There is an easy answer.

They misjudged the mood of the populous because they started to believe their own BS.

I just might watch it, if I ever actually find it, but even the articles state that it is a "suggestion" and that after podesta's bit it is the narrator that says "Many believe..."

They're misconstruing and even telling you that that is what they are doing.

Since no one can even prove aliens exist, even

What I'm pointing out is that the author of the article says it is a "suggestion" but what they quoted from Podesta's part doesn't seem to be suggesting anything like that.

That was mentioned in the second link in the OP but it is still implied by the editors of AA and/or Colavito.

It just doesn't seem like anyone can quote someone actually saying "aliens cost Clinton the election".

In that case I don't think you give them enough credit and underestimate their foresight. They are far from dumb and would not overlook such a crucial part of the process.

They own all the major politicians but not the electoral college? Hardly believable when you consider the amount of money and influence these people supposedly have.

Because Ancient Aliens is well-known for always documenting the facts upon which they go off on their tangents. Having a quote from Podesta - who has a genuine interest, one that I share - that they wanted to look into it, then having the narrator go off on "some believe that ...." would be highly typical A.A., spout a tiny bit of fact, then quote anonymous "Ancient alien theorists believe ...." not even pointing to one "theorist."

It is comforting to know that David Wilcock seems to be a Trump believer through and through, which isn't the least bit surprising.
