North, South Korea may announce official end to Korean War: report

North and South Korean officials are discussing an end to the military conflict that has existed between the two nations for the last 68 years, Bloomberg News reports. An unnamed South Korean official told a local newspaper that a direct line between South Korea's president and North Korea's Kim Jong Un could be established by the end of the week, and that the two leaders may release a joint statement officially ending the conflict at a summit next week.

IMO The world stage is being set for a biblical showdown.

With my religious ranting out of the way i will say this could really be perceived either way to be good or bad.

On one hand peninsula peace could be good if it took on a freedom style of governance and on the other hand who needs nk style governance ruling the peninsula?

An official end to the war is little off from a united Korea isn't it?

Plus it would make any future aggressions illegal. Not that anyone is going to do anything about illegal wars.

Great point but comments have much been made that the goal is unification and this would be the first step.

My question of who governs who is a bit premature but does indeed need pondering during talks but not in a manner that sidetracks such talks.

Someone will have to take the leed.

I say one war ended is usually another started. They achieved a nuclear/chemical arsenal. Who wouldn't be like yea we good now, I accomplished my goals no reason to fuss anymore. That's all they wanted in the first place, is to test & manage their equipment properly, which they succeeded in. Why would they have a reason to go past that?, they've never said anything besides wanting to havethe capabilities to defend their country, which they have now. They chill. China they leaders though for sure.
