Even if I had that kind of money, I wouldn't pay that much for a dress. There are too many homeless and hungry people out there and that money could go to a good cause. Maybe build some kind of youth center and get kids away from drugs and troubles. I don't know, there are plenty of wiser ways to spend money when you're rich. Homelessness is a huge problem and growing across the Country.

Yep. It was very recently, i was browsing around ATS and someone posted a study that when individual's influence and wealth increases, empathy towards the less fortunate ones decreases. I could easily think right now many charities and such, that i would like to donate money to, if i win the lottery jackpot. But what if i win? would it be all about fast cars and rolex watches and champagne then? It is very hard for me to see myself doing that, but maybe huge amounts of money corrupt people somehow, and only very few are immune to that.

I would like to think that those who aren't born into riches and suddenly become rich, would remain somewhat humble and remember their roots. I can see getting a nice house not far from the ocean as I have always dreamed of such a thing, but it wouldn't have to be a huge mansion. Maybe have a regular size house but designed to look like a castle.

I would definitly want to use my riches to help good causes.

Oh I was being playful Hunny.

And I was being a crabby old fart. We are yin and yang.

I am soooooooo stressed and tired. Being a perfectionist doesn't help.

I never ever... would want to make you feel bad for any reason.

Well for some reasons perhaps, I like straight honest feed back, I trust people who give me that.

I love you my Shed Sister!

I love you too Shedster. I am not one to sprinkle the L word loosely. Well there are many kinds of love too.
Just Hugs.

I am with you. He gets in to all sorts of mischief.
Chrissy really should have a "friend", read Caretaker she could install in the house when she is gone. Perhaps a super Aikido master who would pose as a "Cleaning Lady" or a Property Manager".
Yeah that would work a rough and tumble guy who could keep an eye on him.
I can see it. "Now Master Gordi, could you please advice me on this?"
"Perhaps we should walk the grounds now Master Gordi"
Nay, Gordi would have him toasting in a wink.

Bahahaha! That was great! Wonder where Master Gordi is and what he is up to? Oh yeah time zone. What the hell time is it in Scotland? He could be sleeping or napping or...getting into mischief.

Oh, I can be a crabby old lady too, so no worries. Hugs!

I wish we could ease your stress somehow. You work too damned hard and too many hours at a job that drives you crazy.

Good morning

I had only three hours of sleep, but i feel like it was enough this time. 6:15AM now, waiting it to be around 9AM-10AM, then i will get a small amount of money and then it is summer food. Going to buy good quality sausages, make cuts in them so they look nicer when they come from the oven, then eat them with chopped red onions and mustard. Alongside will be a fresh greek salad, iceberg lettuce, olives, feta cheese and cherry tomatoes. Garlic sauce is a must with that.

But for the time being, just coffee, water and cigarettes.

Well...when the boys had left for their respective rugby events, I went along to check the car park / picnic area at the local woods as we had seen a large group of teenagers headed that way (with large amounts of alcohol in tow) and there has been a problem with litter, broken glass and the irresponsible starting of random fires.
Fortunately, on this occasion, there was very little litter and no sign of glass or new fires. (phew!)
In addition, a local group of "Young Farmers" (a national rural Youth Organisation which supports young people in the countryside) had been tasked with improving and repairing a lot of the footpaths, filling in pot-holes etc! So it was ALL GOOD!

On my return home I made a big pot of home made soup (broth), did a little bit of design work on new signage for the improved forest footpaths, finished carving a wooden spoon that I'd started weeks ago! then watched a movie (The Dark Tower).

Dougie's team WON their tournament and he scored a couple of try's, but Callum's team got beaten in their match despite playing very well. (I must have misunderstood his news earlier... he had been made captain for NEXT WEEKS event!!! (Not this one D'uh! LOL))

So, no mischief on this occasion! (Next weekend may be slightly different as I'm off to the big music festival MoFest! Again!!)

Hi Cody! LTNS mate.
Hugs to M!

A festival? Do you get to have some adult fun at this festival? A smuggled-in bottle of pre-mixed whisky/beer? (They sell these things online called Beer Bellies. It's a strap-on hot-water bottle for your belly. You fill it with alcohol and enter the concert as normal. There's a straw attached for easy access.) Once you "get in" to a festival in NL beer costs between 2 and 3 euros and it is way less than a pint. 200ml, if lucky. Unfortunately you may not bring any food or alcohol to said event (even if it is a 3 or 5 day event!).

By way of contrast, I can buy 1 pint of beer in the supermarket for 50 cents. Put differently, I don't go to concerts anymore.

I googled MoFest, it looks well organised and chill. (I didn't look at the prices) And indeed big names as headliners. Bryan Adams must have been one to behold.

It'd be a good one to take the boys to in coming years. Not quite yet though perhaps...?

"Your Mother and I are going on a stress-management course paid for by our employers and we won't be home for a day or two...."

Sounds more than reasonable to me.

Gordi, I see you have been busy, but in a good way. I miss music festivals! I am so hoping that I am still able to get away Friday into Saturday for a stay at my Best Friend's house that lives out near the ocean. I will keep in contact from her house like I have done before.

Light, I don't go to music festivals anymore either. Too much walking and usually hot as hell in the Summer when these things come about. The prices are always ridiculous as well. Beer bellies? Ahaha! Clever.

Arrrrgh, Windows sucks but it's a necessary evil until gamers can use Linux for their games without compatibility problems

The new Windows update rolled out & my husband's computer got it. And it promptly took a giant crap on itself. The best way I can describe it in layman terms is it's yea-far from being completely bricked (inoperable) It's stuck in a boot-up loop that takes it to a "select keyboard layout" screen, and won't do anything else other than shut down. I can't access the Boot menu beyond randomly doing it while spam-mashing the key right after it boots, getting in there to reorder what boots first is going to be a huge PITA -- I need the computer to boot from the flash drive I made with Win10 on it to reinstall it.

Looking around forums online shows this to be not so isolated, the Windows Reddit is full of pissed off people. So is Windows' own forum.

If Windows broke my husband's desktop so bad he needs a new one, both of us are going to be extremely pissed. We could probably swing it after a few paychecks, but not immediately

Edit: This wouldn't be so much of headache right now if he didn't use it for work at home, to a point. He needs to stay on top of company emails between departments, it's pretty critical to keeping things running smoothly. This doesn't work well on his phone, it crashes it for some reason.

Must have heard your call from across the miles.

I came in here to express my disappointment because...I won't get to go on my overnight trip because of the funeral. It happens to be on Saturday. Wake on Friday. I was supposed to leave Friday and stay overnight into Saturday. I am giving up my plans because this Woman was/is an Angel and it's my Niece's Husband's Mom.

Bad enough to lose this lady and now no trip on top of that and still haven't heard about my Sister's best friend's Husband. Sigh...

Hi Light,

I've been attending MoFest for about 5 or 6 years now.
I have friends who live in the town which hosts it (Montrose).
It is mainly a pub-based festival, there are over 30 venues which all host live bands of every style imaginable. It's the Pubs who pay the Festival committee to organise the bands for them.
The whole festival is completely FREE for the people attending (apart from the one BIG concert which usually features a top artist on the Friday Night). We've had Jools Holland, Status Quo, Bryan Adams, T'Pau and others, but I usually spend the Friday Night jamming with friends in their back garden!
There is a big main stage at the top of the open market square in the centre of town, where dozens of bands (and dance troupes!) entertain the crowds, again for FREE! There are plenty of Stalls for food& drink and merchandise, but the best thing is seeing loads of top quality bands for free over the weekend!
Oh, and the good company and drinks and making music and.... and.... LOL
