LOL! Thank you Gentlemen for the laughs this morning. I really, really needed that!

Appointment today with the new optometrist. Knowing I have cataracts and my eyes will need operating on eventually, maybe soon,...my medical only covers surgeries if I'm in a regular hospital. God only knows how much that will cost me when I have to have that done.

Ok, time to not think. Thinking stresses me out. LOL

Glad I got a new optometrist. My other one wanted me to have an operation on my eyes for the cataracts a few years ago. This one says I have at least another two years, that it isn't necessary right now. Nice guy too with a sense of humor. I needed a new prescription and picked out nice new glasses. No glaucoma or macular degeneration so...Yay!
I can relax now. Whew!

What has everyone been up to today?

Sprinkles faery dust and sits in the garden with a good book.

Thanks Hunny!
I bet I'll be able to see a lot better when the new glasses come in. I really did need a new prescription. Lovely to see you tonight! I'm going to check out the new threads and go to youtube to watch stuff, but will be checking in as always.

Hope you are having a nice evening!

Thank you Sweetie!

I took off earlier to rest and ended up falling asleep. LOL

How are you Mate? Or is that mate? I hope you are in fine fettle. That always makes me chuckle as it is so strange for me to say and hear, yet so cute.

You wanna know what this place is?
Let me try to explain it,
It's a home and also an oasis,
Where we talk about life but also escape it,

I just replied to Night in U2U that it sounded like an oasis !!

Didn't take a lot to find, yay !! Ahh where the fresh air of peace flows across you instead of the scorching wind of everything else.

18 previous threads. lol. that is something !!

And I do need a calm rain as opposed to the storms of late.

I'm such a wuss and have never been on a plane. I almost took a ride in a helicopter once when I was feeling brave, but the line was too long to wait in. It was at some fair many years ago.

I've been on 2 planes my entire life. Strangely, it was not the fact that I was in a machine travelling at insane speeds with he inside it, nor the fact that we were 30,000 feet in the air hurtling towards empty space, not even the thought of something going wrong that could be catastrophic.

It was being stuck in that seat, not even able to comfortably go to the loo, as the person closest to the aisle had some strange power - the ability to sleep. For that aspect alone, I dread the thought of flying. lol

Now a chopper, I would be a mess. Something different about watching the ground disappear vertically underneath you like that.

In my old place I wore 12 year-old glasses and I couldn't read a book. Friends forced me to use their health insurance to get a new pair (my insurance does not provide for glasses) and all of a sudden I could read again! I have astigmatism (oval shaped eyeballs whereas most people have round eyeballs) I'm sitting there in the chair with a lady looking in my eyes with that light and magnifying glass thingy and suddenly remembered I hadn't told her about my astigmatism so I told her quickly.

She laughed and said "Don't worry, I saw that straight away!"

"Really? You can see that already?"

"Yes, it's quite visible!" LOL

Glad to hear it all went well. As for news, the power died in our building (and other buildings nearby) and for some reason that means that an electronic box that controls the fire-alarm starts to beep loudly. Being the person I am I press a random button to stop the beeping in the hope the power comes back on. (I later learned that the button I pressed was "Evacuate Building") That's when the fire-alarm went off waking up the whole building. I didn't understand a thing, people called the rental company and they sent people for the fire-alarm. They told me that the power was down and that the fire-alarm was activated by me. Horror! So, the rental company got called again to inform them it was a power problem and not a fire-alarm problem. All in all, power was down to our building and other residential properties for 3 hours.

Lesson learned. Do not press buttons you do not understand on boxes you do not understand when there is a power outage. Now to apologise to the rental company....
My bad!

I was wrong. Astigmatism is not oval shaped eyeballs, it's some lens problem that results in incorrect bending of light.

Lazy eye, blurry vision, etc.

ETA Without glasses, I see what the bottom left text looks like.

ETA2 Or possibly bottom right plus bottom left.
