Night Star
In my old place I wore 12 year-old glasses and I couldn't read a book. Friends forced me to use their health insurance to get a new pair (my insurance
does not provide for glasses) and all of a sudden I could read again! I have astigmatism (oval shaped eyeballs whereas most people have round
eyeballs) I'm sitting there in the chair with a lady looking in my eyes with that light and magnifying glass thingy and suddenly remembered I hadn't
told her about my astigmatism so I told her quickly.
She laughed and said "Don't worry, I saw that straight away!"
"Really? You can see that already?"
"Yes, it's quite visible!" LOL
Glad to hear it all went well. As for news, the power died in our building (and other buildings nearby) and for some reason that means that an
electronic box that controls the fire-alarm starts to beep loudly. Being the person I am I press a random button to stop the beeping in the hope the
power comes back on. (I later learned that the button I pressed was "Evacuate Building") That's when the fire-alarm went off waking up the whole
building. I didn't understand a thing, people called the rental company and they sent people for the fire-alarm. They told me that the power was down
and that the fire-alarm was activated by me. Horror! So, the rental company got called again to inform them it was a power problem and not a
fire-alarm problem. All in all, power was down to our building and other residential properties for 3 hours.
Lesson learned. Do not press buttons you do not understand on boxes you do not understand when there is a power outage. Now to apologise to the rental
company....
My bad!
