Debate...on ATS

You know, there are a number of people here whom I don't always agree with, but I enjoy the debate. Equally, there are some others who just get nasty and start hurling insults.

Frankly, I've got a pretty thick skin, and i really don't care so much about the insults (in fact, many times they're pretty comical). However, it's pretty unfortunate when the "amateurs" show up and just start talking "smack' and nonsense.

I posted this in "Rant" because I couldn't think of a better place, but i'm not mad. I don't get mad very often; I've got a whole lot of things I could get mad about which are FAR larger than some interweb forum, but I generally don't get mad.

In any case, all the name calling and anger is pretty telling sometimes here; it's amateurs losing a fight, with no better argument, so they start throwing slurs and names.

Seems kind of sad to me. Makes me wonder what their real life is, and perhaps how unhappy it must be.

ETA...i should also add; there are some I vigorously disagree with here, but we have a GREAT rapport...and i would gladly buy anyone of them dinner or spend time with them!

I've always understood the first person that slings insults, is the one that loses the debate.

The debates about food are the worst. I am not going to eat snails. I am not going to eat that Norwegian rotted fish again and nobody is going to convince me to.
