No, the salient point is that it's easy for the media to manipulate videos realtime before they get to the eyeballs of the public, through their media feeds.

I justed watched Melania Trump walk out of Barbara Bushes funeral all alone.

It seemed like they all ignored her.

Kind of a sad state for the United States of America.

No pictures or articles have popped up about this yet that I can find.

Yes CD, that's the technique I used to copy/paste different older boards into the grey tabs on the s/sheet as an archive. It's v useful.

I've never implied that the original source was computer-generated. The final product was computer generated. Indeed it's a big difference. Motion capture is a tool used in making computer-generated content. Please stop derailing the thread

This is definitely opening up a can of worms though, looks like in the future media will be saturated with bizarre # that looks real, maybe sounds real too at some point in the future. Truly a post-truth era, it's gonna be strange.

How would one know 100% that a video is not edited then? just because it is the one you "want to see" or incriminates the person you want it to. since this technology exists, it would be available to both sides, let us say a video incriminating Hillary comes out and one Trump... given the knowledge of this technology If you are a Trump supporter you would believe that to be "fake" and the Hillary to be real, but, likewise, if you were a Hillary supporter you would believe that to be fake and Trump's to be real.

For the video posted, since the voice is what's been manipulated, comparing voice signatures would reveal that it isn't actually Obama speaking. Although they sound similar to our ear, the signatures don't lie.
Of course this is only applicable for videos like this where the audio has been altered

Sure, but if this technology exists which it clearly does, we are talking layers of people that would have to give it 100% proof, and even still, we are talking multiple layers of corruption/possible corruption

if there are ways to authenticate the "fakeness", that could also be manipulated and the person pushing their agenda etc

Who is going to authenticate the videos of people authenticating the original videos? We're gonna need a lot of A/V forensics experts analyzing each other's statements. Maybe get into this field now you guys, anyone who is thinking about going to college
