Add As Friend/Enemy

So where are the add as friend/or enemy icons
or tabs? I have not used this function in a number of years,
and do not remember how to do so.

If I remember correctly, there used to be fun little click ons
for doing as such under a members Avatar.

I recently received a PM that said I was added as friend,
and I no longer have a clue as how to reciprocate, nor
otherwise.

Worst of all, I cannot see what type of freaky creature added me
as a friend because the ATS link to their soul disappeared at some
point in my social media error.

Whoops!
Any tips and suggestions would be welcome.

It used to be more simplified. Now you must go to the person's profile page, click on 'wall', and then 'add as friend'.
We don't have foes anymore.

xtra steps then.
Too much, less fun.

It is socially and intellectually
dishonest to not be able to
"add as foe" or "dislike".

What a shame.

When we had the 'foe' option, I never once added anybody, but I would fill that sucker up now for sure!

But yes, we 'friended' a lot, back when ATS was fun and we liked each other. Not so much anymore.

I never used that option because "foe'ing" someone implied they were 'respected.'

Sorry, but no. No respect for the foes. I'm sure they eventually realized how dumb that sounded.

I had like several dozen foes and like 1 friend lmao. Apparently the mods were unhappy with people using the friends and foes in a way it wasn't intended as I was. I still keep a list of the worst ones. Haha.

I believe the "Foe" listing was for the old debate process and Forum here on ATS .
Hopefully , they do bring that one back.

The "enemy" option was unrelated to the debate forums.

If you participated in a debate you'd get that little 'fighter' tag you can see under my name, right there on my avatar, instead of the 'member' tag.

In this new political age of ATS they'd probably need an extra server just to handle the "foe" option.

I seem to remember the 'foe' button going when SO revamped the site in 2010. As far as I can tell, it had nothing to do with the staff and more about streamlining.

Never used it myself apart from joking around and compliments beat slapdowns imo. A few used it a LOT and it wasn't uncommon to be on a foe-list that included 100s of members - two guys were into 1000s of foes. Some would use it to rage over posts so you'd get a few PM alerts as they foed/unfoed/foed to make a point. The point being they were royally losing their #!!

Don't Cha Know, you can't call people out as enemies / foes on social media anymore. You don't want an person to come unhinged, storm the server location and shoot the place up. And some nit-wit prosecutor might try to charge you with a hate crime as a result.

Ahhh,I remember the "good old days" when ATS not only
had the friend/foe feature,they used to have an ignore
one as well.

Haha. Yeah.

There was a whole snippet about 'foe'ing' someone. I'll try to summon from memory.

It read something like

"This is my respected foe. Although we may disagree, _____ challenges me to do my best etc. etc. blah blah blah"

Basically was a lot of buttkissin'
