maybe militarization of high schools and universities is what american kids needs to learn discipline, social responsibility and self control. america seems on a crash course for civil war with how willful and divisive kids that age have become because the influence of teachers from my generation who think so highly of socialism and communism.

Maybe this is one of the (partial) reasons why Trump was selected by TPTB. He went to a military school, IIRC.

So you want to advocate to search and scan every student , staff member and visitor at the entrance to every school, all the time, instead of just making guns harder to obtain?

The big question is what do you mean by harder to obtain, and would it make a big difference? I need to badge in to work...it is not very hard thing to do. Walking though a metal detector set at a high level of detecting is not very infringing on.

we don't worry what may happen if we piss off soneone in the street.

Really?

Bad City

While both London and New York have populations of around 8 million, figures suggest you are almost six times more likely to be burgled in the British capital than in the US city, and one and a half times more likely to fall victim to a robbery.

London has almost three times the number of reported rapes and while the murder rate in New York remains higher, the gap is narrowing dramatically.

I guess beatings is just a part of life...lol At the end of the day bad people in America and in the UK will do bad things. If you feel to limit EVERYONE'S rights to somehow stop those who do not respect rights or the law as a good thing then so be it.

you are equating a fist fight with a shooting? really??

Lets do a thought experiment. I wave a magic wand and *poof* all guns vanish. What do you then have to fear and how would you manage the risk? - What actually changes?

I don't think anyone is proposing issuing sidearms and body armor to teachers as standard issue gear for the job, but it is ludicrous to prevent any law-abiding person from carrying a weapon for self-defense. Just because the Powers That Be put up a sign that says NO GUNS ALLOWED doesn't mean the lunatic fringe is going to pay attention, stop, and decide not to shoot up the place because of it.

Obviously we need to be giving the students the body armor and selling it as a school uniform. There's actually a growing bulletproof clothing industry in the US. Much of it is quite fashionable, or we could always go for a nostalgic storm trooper look, perhaps each school could color the armor in their school colors to really pep the students up.

Lets compare using a gun for protection to just getting raped because you have no choice. I also don't think I would like to get beat with a cricket bat either and if someone came at me with one they would most likely be shot too.

Also, did you read my link? We do not see NY as a nice city and it seems London is worst in most ways, so pick your poison.
