I feel like the package bomber is working in phases as it seems to be unfolding rapidly. It is a lot of work for one person, unless they have been preparing for a long time and is just basically delivering them, so to speak.

Looks like you found it, bigburgh, or something very similar. What are the odds...this thing sits around for years and happens to go off same day as the other bombs are found.

I agree could be one person who's been planning for months. As you can see the pace continues to accelarate meaning he isn't scared of being caught. My prediction is one of two outcomes he blows himself up trying to plant a device or suicide by cop. He's not afraid of being caught at all if he did this would be at a much slower pace.

If this was a movie there would be more bombs then the final scene would be him facing off with police wearing a suicide vest and hostages. What scares me is they are trying trying create terror and they will eventually want trying let people know why.

That or it shows confidence that he wont be caught. He changed to using a trip wire pretty quickly, now this incendiary device comes into play, and investigators have to take time and analyze everything to determine what is and isn't connected. on top of that, if he's stockpiled bomb making materials there's no telling how many different types he could employ, making closing in through purchase records of those materials difficult.

I can definitely see that, though without hostages. As for why, I can only speculate of course. He's targeting the Austin area, which is pretty liberal. So possibly a McVeigh type? I certainly am not going to rule out the other kind of terrorism, or he could just want to cause chaos and fear for no particular reason.
