Only a week or so ago, Putin threatened the western world with a powerful nuclear device that, according to him, is unstoppable.

President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia threatened the West with a new generation of nuclear weapons Thursday, including what he described as an “invincible” intercontinental cruise missile and a nuclear torpedo that could outsmart all American defenses.

www.nytimes.com... cle&pgtype=article

And just a few days ago, supposedly on orders from Putin, an ex-Russian spy who had defected to Britain through a UK/Russian spy-exchange, was poisoned with a horrible nerve agent.

Its clear Putin is getting definitely angry at the west, despite his supposed friendship with Trump.
Worse, is Putin if he did this attack on this ex-Russian spy going a little crazy?

Indeed, if this was done by Russia on Putin’s orders then this is breaking the rules of international relations and spy-craft. Never does one side murder the others defectors on the opponents own land!

For example, what if the US did something to Snowden on Russian territory? Indeed, Putin would be very, very pissed off.

That's not to say Russia is guilty here since it isn’t beyond the capacity of Western spy agencies to arrange this themselves and blame Putin.

In fact, that is just what Russia is claiming here: that this operation is a false flag done by the West to besmirch Russia.

Whatever the case, Russia doing this or the West or maybe a third party just trying to cause dissension between the two powers; this is a very dangerous situation we have going on, that engenders the possibility of a war.

Both sides, now along with the US’ UN representative who publicly today blamed Russia, are not backing off the dangerous rhetoric over this affair.
www.telegraph.co.uk...

All of this added to the already powder keg in Syria where some reports have Russia threatening the US forces over there with an attack if their Syrian allies are confronted in the civil war over there.
www.veteranstoday.com...

Relating this current trouble analogously to WWII some might view the Russian friendly Donald Trump as the new Nevill Chamberlin, the British premier who let Hitler get away with so much that it emboldened him to invade Poland and start WWII.

Indeed is Trump the new Neville Chamberlain whose lack of confronting Putin has only emboldened him and will lead the world to a destructive war.

We'll see,

The Russians said they could EMP us in the nineties, use a nuke to make a title wave in the early 2000's, and that nuke you speak if has been known for years.

Classic rhetoric around election time... Kind of like here. People love hearing about the military.

The poisoning isn't proven (though I lean it probably was them).

They have made hits over the years.

My point being, what's new? Why would they want war?

There are much easier ways to "Off" somebody. Now they did poison people before but they were trying to be stealth about it . This was pretty loud and a hell of an escalation using nerve agent. Very similar to what little Kimmy did to his brother.

Don't know... unless Putin is trying to test how much he can get away with, it really makes no sense to use such an exotic form of assassination when it is obvious that you would be caught now.

This reaks to high heaven of a false flag to incite war. We've probably been planning this for sometime.... Hell, we've probably had the plans drawn up since before the election, with government counting on the Golden Girl to be elected, with her hatred of Russia and thirst for pointless war.

If something does happen, can they just take out DC? The majority of us would be ok with that

Why are you such a warmonger?

We don't need to go to war over every little thing nor is it worth having millions of people die for the life of one spy. I just don't understand the need to push some sort of war with Russia.

How about we give peace a chance?

What are talking about?

I’m not pushing for war. Try reading the op next time before you make a ridiculous conclusion as you’ve made.

Technically all nuclear munitions are unstoppable once triggered, hence the very nature of the reaction.

Putin has plenty to be angry at the west about should miss Mays ramblings about Russia's involvement turn out to be false.

End of the day it's all really just a dog and pony show, simple window dressing for the masses really.

I gotta ask, how does your position jump around incessantly with the only constant being hatred of President Trump and your position on the accompanying cast being ever in flux?
Here you championed Russia (and China) being the "only ones who can save the world". www.abovetopsecret.com...
Specifically talking about war with North Korea (a country which has extensively threatened the West with nuclear annihilation) and Iran (who has ceaselessly talked about "destruction of the Great White Satan" in their ramblings.) But now "HOW DARE TRUMP NOT ACT ON THE EVIL PUTIN'S HALF-ASSED THREAT!?!?!"

Here www.abovetopsecret.com... again we have you decrying action against North Korea (remember... many, many threats to nuke the West)

Consistency matters, man. Trump isn't a modern day Chmberlain, Russia isn't at our doorstep in any way... Considering your outrage in other threads over US involvement in Syria (including the US hitting Russian troops) I'd expect your message to be one of non-intervention. Had Trump decided to strike out at Russia over Putin's exercise in talking from his Russian ass, you'd have expressed outrage then as well. What's to be seerved here other than a never ending statement of faith proclaiming you have beef with the President of the USA?

What's the point of this thread?

Do you think we should nuke russia first?

or live in reality of

Mutual Assured Destruction and knowing that Putin loves riding horses and maybe other things bareback, and drinking vodka, that he wants to live and keep doing the things he loves.

He probably also likes seeing people whine like little *ATS Edits* too. You think he's not laughing his firm butt off, with the way England is reacting.

How do we know these hits aren't a false flag?

Around the internet I see people in the UK wishing to go to war with Russia now. Even your OP acts like we need to go to war. I remember when the UK hated us for the "Constant war" on terror..

I love the way you titled your post. You automatically assume that everyone is as deluded as you are. You start the conversation from the view point that Russians/Putin are bad/evil and trump is pandering to this evil.

Then you expect us to debate this from that poisonous starting point?

and you are calling us stupid?

Oh well, at least you provide some free entertainment from time to time. It helps us to better understand the other non thinkers out there.

You guys with your organized insults are obviously trying to bait me and also get the op taken down because you don’t like it.

I’m am going to put in a formal complaint to the operators of this site.

Its nothing wrong with a conversation about the dangerous situation of war and peace.

And you call yourself a moderator.

This isn't the UK, where you could have someone jailed for things you don't like..

Is the World in Danger of War with Russia

No, not unless morons post speculative crap and try to give it unfounded energy.

Hope that is better for you.

You're the moron, I'm afraid.
Frankly, your not welcome on any op I write.

I deal with intelligent people that excludes you.

Let people see that you started the insults and I have the right to return your infantile insults.

Lol, you deal with intelligent people? Lol, stop lying.

You actually DON'T have the right, it's called not responding and being the bigger adult.

However, this is to be expected and time, will NOT tell.

As for your OP, meh. You can't be call Trump a "Russian friendly" an turn around and say he lacks approachment.

You deny Trump has been Russian friendly? Not looking at reality.

And btw Ill debate anyone unless they resort to personal insults.

They do that because they ALWAYS lose an honest argument with me

I HAVE NEVER EVER STARTED AN INSULT WAR and never will, But I will respond.

Putin has been developing these weapons since 2004, blaming both the US for pulling out of the Anti-Ballistic Weapons treaty in 2002,and for building a global missle defence system. Nothing to do with Trump.
