I get what you are saying but I disagree, at least in part.

If I start a thread about hillary and the reasons she should be in jail the topic of the thread is hillary. What happens almost immediately is people from the left start listing everything a republican did that they think is criminal. That is not what the thread is about. Its about hillary and why she should be behind bars. Using republican crimes as an excuse is just denial and obfuscation. At the very least it is admitting wrongdoing for nothing other than the idea "if you can do it so can I".

That is the source of much of the frustration here. The topic is hillary being behind bars. Don't redirect to Bush or Reagan or Trump. Address hillary and her actions. Defend her actions or agree she should be behind bars. If you defend her, expect a counter point. If you agree she should be behind bars lets find a way to get her there.

If we could stay on topic, including the person the thread is about, and avoid using schoolyard excuses maybe we could get from one end of a discussion to the other without degrading to name calling and useless party line rhetoric.

ATS has some brilliant minds. Its a shame they get lost amidst the trolls and agenda pushers.

What I have learned is that in as much as US politics is less about serious discussion about competing "what will work best" policy choices and is all about personalities, there are no "political" solutions to the problems everyday people in the US face.

That being the case, US politics, the political scene is entirely a waste of time. Whats worse is that the system, when it does decide on a policy direction, it usually produces the worst possible policy, Obamacare being the prime example.

I think Hillary and Obama, and major DNC players should probably be in jail, from everything I can see.

But, so should a lot of people.. To think that conservatives shouldn't be looked at because liberals are committing crime is completely lunacy.
