This is unprecedented.

Should be interesting. A face-to-face.

Pundits will have weeks of second-guessing, and advice for Trump.

Its not unprecedented Clinton made a deal with NK in 1994

Yeah, the deal that got us where we are today. And as far as I know he never had a face to face meeting with Un.

Can you imagine if Trump actually is the President that unifies both North And South Korea.

Heads would spin around in disbelief.

But you know what, he could achieve peace, end the 'technical state of war' and prove all the left again as losers. That will likely set a strategy of success to aim for. What a feather in his Make America Great hat.

Yep. How do you think NK got their nuke program started?

True, he was the king of bellicose flourishes bar none, Straight out of DC Comics. Just talk and bluff. That's how the game is played.

And you know, I don't care what anybody says, Ol'Kim does have a kind of cool haircut.

I'm hearing Trump will offer to take an American Barber with him to the "meeting" and "make an offer Kim won't refuse" !

((😁))

You don’t understand a meeting isn’t necessarily a good thing.

In diplomacy, a meeting can backfire.

Wait to see what happens before you give Trump any praise

He has messed things up before.

I'm not praising it at all because I think Un is playing him. But you have to acknowledge he's gotten further with his "silly pompous nonsense" than 8 years of "strategic patience" ever did.

Obama stopped Iran from getting a nuke. You people didn’t praise him for that and he also didn’t have us on the verge of a nuclear confrontation.

Also, Clinton made a deal with NK in 1994

It may turn out good, well see, let's hope so. IF Trump gives him too much will you people criticize him like you did Obama.

I doubt it.

Clinton's "deal" was to release 2 US prisoners. That was it.
And he was former president at the time.

Ohh, and as part of that Clinton "apologized" for the prisoners, who were just journalists and did nothing wrong.

"Clinton expressed words of sincere apology to Kim Jong Il for the hostile acts committed by the two American journalists against the DPRK after illegally intruding into it

No. It was a "have your people call my people"

He gave them $4 bil. Like obama gave Iran 160 bil.

Results? Just a cash infusion and got jack #.

This might be a turning point, a face to face, that has never happened.

Except he didn't. He did a very similar deal to what Clinton did with NK in the 90s. We all know how that wound up.

Newsflash Iran has nukes.

They got them from old Soviet Union blackmarketeers.

😉

Well, I'm all for saying a few Prayers. I know many will object, and many will agree... Winding down tensions world-wide can only benefit all our children, perhaps Russia next, and who knows who else.

Ah, I thought you meant the time that former president Clinton actually met with a leader of NK.
Did Clinton actually meet with a leader in the "deal" that you are talking about?
We can see from history how that deal ended up.

Just chill out and hope for the best. I hope for a change Trump behaves and does the right thing for the world and the country, not for his ego.

Trump needs to keep his trap shut and listen to the experts on diplomacy and not make a jerk of himself as he has done many times before

Left wing media is already trying to spin this, the talking point is along the lines of "well they've offered to do this before". They've offered to negotiate before, sure. Correct me if I'm wrong though, I don't remember any offers to actually meet with Obama, or Bush. Does anyone have any info on that?

Nope, rocket man has only been there 6 yrs tho.

Maybe he's fed enough of his old school generals to the dogs to where he now can maybe join the rest of humanity.

Did his dad ever offer to meet with Obama or Bush?

If they did, we don't know. Probably wouldn't be told anyway.

Truman's fault anyway. lol.

I have my doubts as to how this meeting, IF it happens, will turn out. People seem to be forgetting:

1. We still have prisoners being held by North Korea. What - if anything - is being done to secure their release?

2. Otto Warmbier's murder remains unpunished.

3. North Korea has not only nukes, but also chemical and biological weapons, some of which have already been used (i.e. - the murder of Kim's brother last year.....possible interference on the part of NK in Syria).

4. Why would Kim suddenly do a complete 360? What would he have to gain? He's been working his nukes and other wmd's for a long time. Why would he suddenly give up those programs and let them go to waste?

Don't get me wrong....I would love to see peace between NK and its neighbors and it was heartwarming to see NK and SK working together during the Winter Olympics. But my guts tells me there is more to this latest development than what we're being told.

Imho a pre-emptive strike is still in order, depending on how these "talks" - IF they are held - will turn out.

Not only that, Trump is in desperate need of a distraction from the Stormy Daniels scandal, plus the well-publicised inner turmoil in the Trump White House with the extremely high turnover.

I am, obviously, VERY skeptical.

Nah. That "deal" you are talking about was just so insignificant it was not worth remembering.
