The swamp won on January 20th, 2017 at approximately 12.00 EST.

You are only just realising it now, because you were confused in the first place as to who the swamp actually were in the first place. The swamp is everyone who operates on the level that Trump does, because none of those individuals are honourable, decent, noble or in the slightest bit good. They have never lived a life which bought them into contact with real people, with real problems, rather than the insipid, mindless concerns of oligarchs, tycoons and their ignorant, gutter spawned children.

The swamp is those who own the companies which control the narrative, which never changes no matter who is in office. Its always more war here, more fossil fuels there, ignore the threat that the nuclear power infrastructure poses, particularly never think about the way nuclear waste is disposed of, and for Gods sake, never make a choice which benefits the many and makes the few accountable for their hubris.

The man was a swamp representative from the start, a liar, a fraud and a snake oil salesman, and just like he did with his "university", he conned a nation into accepting for a time, that up was down, that blue is red, that truth is lies and the lies are true.

ETA: I don't feel 'duped' because I wasn't duped. Trump is/was our last hope. The swamp was just too strong, he couldn't beat all of them back and they infiltrated his ranks (Sessions, rosenstein, etc)

Oh my goodness.

This is utter nonsense. Its not cognitive dissonance to suggest that a man who has benefited massively from the corruption inherent in the hyper capitalist system that the USA indulges in, is part and parcel of the problem, rather than its solution. Its good bloody sense.

The man has more in common by a country mile, with those he implied he would be doing battle with, than he does with any one of the people at ground level, who voted for him.

Lets see... Construction workers, for example. Those employed in that way, who have been lucky enough never to do business with him, may have voted for him because they believed, having done no research whatsoever, that he would be handing out construction and civil infrastructure projects to repair the crumbling edifice of the road networks, public buildings, the energy grid and a whole host of other necessary repairs, as well as his white elephant of a wall.

What they would have realised, if they had any nouse and research skill at all, was that Trump, as a private citizen in business, stiffed the hell out of many of the contractors he employed to build his casinos, condo complexes, hotels and other projects.

And what about the military? Its without doubt that the military of the United States has been sent to do things which should not have been done, largely to people who did not deserve it, for generations. You could reasonably argue therefore, that Trump, if he had wished to make a change, would have been about stopping the drivers of terrorism, starting in the intelligence agencies which actually control by proxy, the terror networks, just as they do the drug cartels, and stopping the droning of huge numbers of people, to tag one potential cousin of a guy who may have been photographed carrying an AK in the presence of a terrorist once. But nooooo, thats not what he did, thats not what he wanted to do, and its not what he intended.

You have all these military personnel who have been damaged in the brains and bodies by wars they should never have been sent to fight, families missing members who were killed in the line of duty, during battles which did not need fighting, against foes who only exist because they are funded and supported by the intelligence agencies, and rather than stop it, he just kept pumping the gas onto that raging inferno, while badmouthing the families of fallen heroes, despite having no balls himself, as evidenced by his constant draft dodging, and those bone spurs that don't damned well exist.

You will notice that veterans are still having problems with the VA, that they are no better off under Trump, that he has made precisely NO effort to improve their situation at all since attaining office.

And the list could continue, but I am playing to the peanut gallery here, so I will keep this brief. The fact is, the Emperors new clothes, as much of a lie they were, appeared to sit well about his shoulders according to your eyesight on the day. You got played like a fiddle, by a man who, despite having no talent for the language you speak, was able to trick you with the most unsubtle, utterly transparent rocking horse crap peddling that has been seen outside of a shopping channel advertisement.

Man up, and accept the consequences of that fact.

Trump is on pace to increase the debt by about 15% ($3.5T). That's nothing compared to obama's 110% increase ($11T) and better than bush's 100% ($5T). Also, by Q4 we'll have a better idea what the full effect of the tax cut will be and can cut spending accordingly.
