I don't think anyone is particularly concerned with a Mexican going through a VISA process and being granted entry legally to the USA.
Perhaps you are a bit confused by the difference between a legal process and sneaking across the border in the dead of night and hiding, whilst hoping you can stick long enough to bring in your entire family of living relatives.

I seem to recall a lot of people complaining about H1B and H2B visa holders under Obama. And in fact the Trump administration has been cracking down on the issuance of these visas.

So don't act like it's just the illegal immigrants that the Right has an issue with.
