It also draws a couple closer because of the pleasure they share together.

If you are going to say intelligent design made it pleasurable so the human race could be steeped in porn,screw like rabbits and never have a thought of consequence for what the sexual act was created for, I would say you have your view of intelligent design slightly skewed.

having a baby does not "feel good"! holding your baby after it is born, ya that can feel good....

neither is the later stages of pregnancy for that matter...
and for some it can go far beyond being just an uncomfortable, painful experience to being downright dangerous and life threatening!
lol... when I lived in texas I knew one women that had three kids one after another like I did. her husband, oh ya, he enjoyed the sex involved in creating the little darlings, but once she became pregnant she became so miserable and emotional that he would ship her to her mothers!!! he couldn't stand being around her....
you might find having babies as being as enjoyable as having sex, but then I wonder if you have had children..
for some of us, no it was not that danged enjoyable at all!! it was more of a relief that the nine months of hell was over and finally getting to meet the little darling that had been sharing our space with us that brought the joy giving us at least a sense that something positive and worth while resulted from the hell.

but, tell me, if a women had a doctor telling her that she only had a 25% chance of surviving a pregnancy... would you be so danged judgemental if she chose to abort? what if she had already gone through one complicated pregnancy, had a kid or two that was depending on her and knew that there was a good chance of another complicated pregnancy that would leave her debilitated for a good part of the pregnancy and after the birth? just how great of a sacrifice do you think is acceptable.... for the sake of the first trimester fetus?
like I already pointed out, even for a normal pregnancy, women sacrifice alot, endure alot, to bring a child into the world...

There are always exceptions.. I am talking more about men and women who use abortion as a form of birth control.

someone once told me that having a child can be a gift, or a curse, it mainly depends on the mindset of the parent.. and well, even the bible claims that painful child birth is a curse from god, so what can I say.. I've decided to see it as a sacrifice that a women makes to give life to another... it's not her duty to her husband or society or her God. a sacrifice that is forced onto her is no longer a sacrifice is it?

and, I really don't think that most abortions are because women are using it for birth control..
maybe some unlucky kids when they are first experimenting with sex are, but I imagine after the first pregnancy and abortion they'd be doing everything they can to avoid going through the unpleasant experience again.
birth control can and does fail and abstinence has never really worked that well for the majority of women. and as long as there are men who seem to think that the marriage licenses means sex on demand, as long as women can be so easily put into position where they are depending on the financial resources of a man, as long as churches are teaching them to be obedient to the man... some women don't really see where abstinence is a choice that is available to them.

Yes! It's your body, and if someone commits suicide the government can't do anything about it anyway since they'll already be dead. They're control freaks, not living in reality. A better way to help people feel better against suicide is to show actual Care and Love, not just being a control freak and calling it "illegal".

Somehow though, aborting a living being which is not you is legal, despite it being it's own separate person. 

It's not it's own separate person, that's why it develops in someone else's body. Also, it's not a living being until it has a beating heart.

What principle do you believe we base our rationale upon since clearly our government does not think we own our own body?

Do not tell other people what they can and cannot do, put, or take out, of their own bodies. The purpose of government is only to govern society (social interactions being beings), telling a person that they do not have the right to do what they want to their own body is oppressive.
