The Op has pointed out that there is a predictions that this will be the generation to end abortion, and pointing out the very court case, that
everyone living in the USA today benefits from.
And brings up that there is a law, and flirts with the idea that very nearly brought the USA from a democracy to a dictatorship, from another Junior
Senator.
The first problem, when it comes to the abortion debate, for those who are against said practice, is that there is a misconception about the Roe V.
Wade court case, and they also fail to understand that there was more than one issue in that case. And if one agrees or disagrees with such, the
benefits from that very case affects them in ways that many do not even think about. Or what would be the end result if it was removed, how it would
affect the individual.
The second problem with the entire abortion debate is that it is flawed on the part of those who are wanting to ban the practice. It draws and leads
to making women once again second class citizens under the control of men. So what is far crueler, abortion, or a child who gets sick and the
parent(s) can not afford medical treatment and the child dies? How about hunger, should a child go to bed hungry? How about just having parents and
a safe home? How about just getting to be a child and not being on the street without a home? Those against abortion, tend to only think of banning
the procedure, however, offer no viable options. The discussion about what the child needs, ever comes up, and rarely thought about. And what is
even worse, is that when those very safety nets are brought up, many would cut them and thus what is crueler, abortion, or allowing a child to suffer
and die from any number of things? And because the needs of the child never comes up, it goes back to the base line that it is all about controlling
women and not about banning the procedure. After all if this is done in a hospital or a medical facility, how would one really know if a woman does
or does not have an abortion?
How can a person, who is a US citizen, be a usurper? Don’t all citizens have the same rights and freedoms as all others? Don’t all citizens have
the right to have a voice in the choice of who is running the government? Should not their ideas and wants, have equal weight with ever other idea
and wants out there in this country?
The very law and idea that is brought up, that is one that nearly brought the USA to the brink of being a dictatorship, all from a Jr. Senator from
Wisconsin, Joseph McCarthy. Is that what the country really needs, are we prepared to live under such a rule, like many military governments and a
few other countries out there, where political discourse, that goes against what is popular is treated as being against the state, and the results
being either death or imprisonment? After all I hear that is the way things are done in other countries, like North Korea or even Russia.
