they may see it as a risk to their liberty, and rightly so since the bulk of the care of the children usually falls onto the shoulders of the mother.
they may see it as a risk of their possessions and way of life, and rightfully so since once they become a mother, their earning potential is drastically reduced.
and, they just may see it as a risk to their health or life, and rightfully so since pregnancy can and often do lead to serious medical complications.

it's also a matter of self defense.

our quest for nuclear weapons, our war in viet nam, our wars in Iraq, they all have one thing in common. not only did they cause the horrible deaths of so many children at the time, but also severely compromised the genetic integrity of the survivors in those countries, condemning future generations horrible defects.

You can invoke the 14th amendment and talk about equality all you want and it still does not change the fact that one right is not dependent upon the other. We have those rights regardless of the status of the other.

Guns are for protection and are a right, period, end of story.

Citizens generally don't want war. More money for the military is closely related to own a gun, for protection. We should not use it for greed etc. But politicians on both sides want war, they may say they don't, but both sides do. They argue about HOW. Just like they argue how to take your rights, fast, or slowly...for another time...
