Why is CNN trying to bully a victim of this tragedy?

Using the the parklands shooting is not an excuse for lying and decieving people. In fact it's outright disgusting.

LOL you must be computer illiterate. Open a word document. Copy this text into it (DO NOT EDIT IT). Save. Right click the file you just saved. hit properties. Go to the 'details' tab. Witness the complete destruction of your OP.

In no universe could the result be anything but this. In no universe does this prove CNN didn't doctor the questions.

ETA:
I am thoroughly confused by all of this. Haab printed and scanned the emails and his speech. Why? This completely rules out the idea that you've put forth that he put it into word and doctored it then saved it. But why scan it? Then, CNN is mad and says his question is too long when their version of his question was longer than his version? How does that make sense?

No doubt.

CNN and their DNC handlers should really cut it out.

Besides the fact that Glenn's email looks authentic and CNN's doesn't, it doesn't take a bum off the street to understand that the time on one of the computers/phones were a minute off from the computer/phone the email was sent from. CNN is well known for lying, especially if it's to cover their own mistakes up. This really isn't THAT newsworthy.

I'll believe the kid and the family who are going through the tragedy over a known fake news outlet like CNN, thanks.

I just watched one of the CNN presenters claim she never let accusations that the NRA were child murderers stand, calling the person who said they did, a liar. Then watched a video of this CNN 'presenter' doing exactly that - letting child murderer claims stand unchallenged.

I am sure they will try and doctor that evidence too.

After seeing CNN go after a senior woman as a Russian shill, I'll believe the kid.

A news item worthy of it's own thread.

Let's make the facts clear here:

CNN reportedly provided other news outlets with the Haabs' version of the email, in question.

Got that? CNN didn't just provide their own version of the email...they ALSO provided the Haabs' version that was allegedly 'doctored.'

There is no news source that claims they got the Haabs' purported 'doctored' email directly from the Haabs.

NONE.

Show me where FOX news says they obtained any word doc or any email directly from the Haabs.

Show me where HuffPo says they obtained any word doc or any email directly from the Haabs.

I can't find those claims from those sources. I can find unsourced second hand claims...but no firsthand claims from FOX and HuffPo.

Instead, I find several sources that claim it was CNN that provided BOTH their version and the Haabs' version....including the source in your OP....Business Insider.

The Business Insider article says this:

On Friday afternoon, Fox News and the HuffPost reached out to CNN to verify emails between the Haabs and Stevenson that they received from Colton.

A CNN source provided Colton’s version of the emails, as well as their versions of all of the communications between the Haabs and CNN, to Business Insider.

And they give an image credit to CNN on BOTH versions of the email:

And it's not just them...the Washington Post also says CNN disclosed the Haabs' version of the email:

Nutty, yes. But those are the facts.

CLEARLY -- so, so painfully clearly -- the Haabs have made some deal with CNN to let them wrap this all up and absolve themselves without directly accusing the Haabs of any wrongdoing. After all, it's only a word doc that was purportedly edited, not the email, itself. And it's only the *understanding* of news outlets that CNN provided both versions of the email to. No source at CNN is named -- they are an unamed source at CNN, of course.

AND, now the Haabs are NOT responding to any questions about it...they've slipped off with whatever CNN offered them to shut up.

Your thread just makes CNN, the Haabs, and every other news source that didn't focus their story on the fact that BOTH versions of the email came FROM CNN, look completely suspicious.

SO...THAT is what your thread is really all about and the only reason it is worthy of its own thread.

Boy, I just listened to Haab's interview. It's not just two edited lines, but they. CNN, throttled down his full statement, to those two lines. And he smelled the rat, so he never went to that sideshow. Personally, who shot John, on those edits are small potatoes. It's CNN's shutting down his statements, which ruins their case. Do they have his original statement? If so, I'm thinking that his lawyer can get it back through a discovery motion. But presently, we don't know, what we don't know.

Shooting survivor’s father admits email changes in CNN spat

www.tampabay.com...

CNN denies scripting any remarks and released an email exchange between a CNN producer and Glenn Haab that it says Glenn Haab altered. The altered email was sent to other news outlets, including Fox News.

Haab acknowledges omitting some words from the email but says he didn't do it on purpose.

Haab "accidentally" removed some words from the email, then shopped his fake version around.

Please...follow the links from Mediaite to the original Tampa Bay Times story for yourself, BUT...all that the Tampa Bay Times says is this:

Haab acknowledges omitting some words from the email but says he didn't do it on purpose.

Where? How? To whom did he acknowledge it? When?

That's the original source of this new factoid.

And if you read through other articles on this topic carefully enough, it won't take you long to realize that the Haabs are now silent, you won't find them quoted anywhere,...

...and CNN is the ONLY source of the 'doctored' email that was reportedly provided to "multiple media outlets."

The Haabs aren't raising any fuss about any 'inaccuracies' though. So I assume they are fine with the reporting about them. Nevertheless, it's CNN directing this story on behalf of themselves and the Haabs, at this point.

If you buy any of it...I think you are mistaking fiction for fact.

Or, the virulent socialists have taken to harassing/threatening this family like they did that poor 70-something y/o woman in Florida.

Typical thug intimidation techniques.

Edit: Either way, whether this story is true or not, we know the media is exploiting this incident to push a highly unpopular and unwanted anti-American socialist agenda.

....as if Donald Trump's election wasn't a clear enough rejection already. Perhaps when their rabid gun-control fantasies once again fizzle out they'll realize that.
