This will come as no surprise for most of us. Bit if there was ever any doubt all one has to do is listen to them when they go off script.

I especially like the the part (on the bottom link) where Steele’s is “ white splained” about what it’s really all about.

Being white and having a certain look about me I hear it all the time. They only fool themselves.

Can’t say that I feel bad for Steele. He should have known, as should any gay or Jew for that matter. You are not really welcome in this club, unless they need you as a token to justify their end game. A human prop if you will.

These are just a couple links a google search turned up.

There were "audible gasps" when he said that. Get those people some Oscars on their way out.

Any of them who are still surprised by this kind of thing are being willfully ignorant of their surroundings.

But you do realize the people whom you all, allow to represent you, keep saying racist things.

I mean, we aren't making them say those things, they are things being said. Now I hate a bandwagon as much as the next person and yes the racist card gets thrown out too much.

But that was some racist sh.t right there.

“We elected Mike Steele as chairman because he was a black guy, that was the wrong thing to do.” According to those in the room at the time, the comment was met with audible gasps.

From the OP's source.

ETA: And it's racist because, the guy literally said, that he was ELECTED because of his RACE.

Never.

They think making ad homenims is a political platform.

It would be nice if they had real issues to run on instead of incessantly running around 'Shouting RACIST', thinking they win something.

Just for the record, I am a Libertarian leaning Independent.

Where the comment is abhorent, it isnt representitive of the entire group, thinking so would be rather prejudicial dont you think?

Since when are we a nation that started viewing racism as a lesser offense when compared to pointing out that racism?

This is absolutely absurd how you guys have snowflaked your way into making it somehow offensive to point out that your being an asshole.

Ah but there is the crux of the matter. IF these people do not represent the majority, why are they the loudest voices in the room, and where is the dissent from said majority, towards this minority?

Extremists have had control of both parties for a generation or more now. THAT is what needs to change. The moderates and independents should be the ones making policy as they are more reasonable and quite frankly, more numerous than the extremists.

So although I agree with you, that yes it's prejudiced to claim the actions or thoughts of one represent the actions or thoughts of many, but when the many stand with the few, it's hard to make a case for anything else now is it?

And how many people voted for Obama simply because he was a black guy? They were told it was the historic thing to do or they thought if they voted for him it would end all racism or something and not because they either knew what he stood for or even understood any of it?

Does that make all of those people -- and there were as many on the left and in the center and many who were black themselves and as there could have been on the right -- racist?

Because "RACIST" has been so overused since 2009, the term doesn't carry much weight anymore.

We need a new word, lol.

No, the problem is when people prejudge an entire group for the actions of an individual.

Part of the problem with folks like you is that either you are willfully ignorant or have zero ability to understand context.

I went and listened to the guy's speech. The context was that in 2008, Obama was elected President and it was historic. His point was that the RNC kind of felt they had to respond in kind and essentially elected Mike Steele because he was black. This is not to say he was not qualified, but let's not sugar coat his being black was seen as a benefit. He is essentially saying the did it for optics and it was wrong. I mean, the Democrats are always saying republicans are racist, so they felt they had to get someone of color in a visible position.

He clearly states this PRIOR to saying "We elected Mike Steele because he was black"

That said, I can understand why Mike Steele may have been upset though, but in reality, this is the guy's opinion.

It is ironic, because Democrats and Progressives are constantly hiring, promoting, and pushing people because they are part of some sort of victim group.

It sure does.

It's called the bigotry of low expectations. Give all those minorities enough ' Atta Boy's' and you solve the whole problem right?!

Wrong.

Racism is racism, be it on the left or the right.

Racism, sexism, elitism, ageism, religionism, heightism, earism, are all bad and all exist.

We need to recognize this and that it occurs everywhere.

CPAC? Meh. Didn't watch and didn't care.

Let's all unite against all the -isms, so we can eliminate the threat Gingers have on our nation's souls.

Of course, I just went back and read what I typed, and I also recall how you were told that if you did not vote for Obama, it also proved you were racist.

Nice Catch-22, huh?
