Who invented the idea of a flag anyway?

The most divisive icon ever devised.

Nothing but death and tragedy have resulted ever since.

Lets rally round our flag, and trash theirs.

I understand what you're saying, but there has and always will be symbols of ownership. be it flags of the country or state, family crests, team colors, or even numbers on your mailbox to a degree. Consider how many gangstas are going on about their area code...even getting it tattooed.

Flags are used to incite ideology, I mean Nationalism, I mean war...

Defending the nation isn't the same as defending the flag. The flag can be moved from location to location.

Once supplanted, ideology can be misused.

Now we are defending our national flag in other countries??!!

I often find from experience that some of the more stereotypical sjws or extreme ones don't have much travel or education regarding other countries or in depth history. Many have an insular historical view which is mostly only North America. However, the ones who are less extreme often have more experience abroad and historical education. I think I was more of a stereotypical far left, social justice guy until I lived abroad for a while and got a grad degree in international affairs. It's moderated my views.

That other disease, ownership.

Used to confound Native Tribes about the white man.

He declared ownership of land. Planted flags, lol.

Flags can be moved, nations can also be moved. A flag is a representation of the nation. A point of grounding towards the ideas and ideals within that nation.
Ideology changes from generation to generation, nationalism isn't great, but patriotism is good and its a fine line between the two. Nationalists will burn the flag if they disagree with the politics of the time, patriots will point to the flag if they disagree with the politics at the time acknowledging things change all the time for good or bad, but always changing.

You are seeing the worst parts of what a flag represents, but thats your view, not some official view.

I have no clue what you are saying in your last sentence, so gonna ignore it.

I'll be along shortly to take your things since you don't agree with ownership.

Surely, there MUST be a Norwegian statue to tear down SOMEWHERE in the US.

Poor woman would probably lose her mind here --

I have 2 different versions of the Thin Blue Line flags, an American flag, and 2 Battle flags all flying. Neighbors the same. Only flag I don`t have up at the moment is my TRUMP 2016 flag ... I need a bigger flagpole for that one

Sure there is, just look at this highly offensive monument. I bet it is celebrating some kind of Norwegian lutefisk and Olympic gold medal privileges:

The Seattle Times ended their story like this:

She says, “Maybe that’s the story … we’re so stressed by all things political that we see things that aren’t there.”

Better hope the Russian bots don’t decide to repost their slightly altered version.

But there are black objects.

The civil war was fought with harsh words, and the slaves were freed by talking the south to death.

Native tribes had other very similar ways of declaring ownership of territory. They slaughtered the opponents and scalped them, displaying those scalps as trophies and left the bodies lying for the scavengers. They planted spears, the designs of which were unique to that people. They saw certain lands as their territories and defended them against invaders and pressed into other lands when food became scarce, often fighting and displacing other bands to do so.

Planting a flag is nothing more than a form of tribalism. Now take a look at what you wrote Native "Tribes."

As to the OP, woman is a moron looking to create sensationalism and the media happily let her do it. Hell, they probably encouraged it outright. Garbage, all of it.

Are you seriously claiming that the Native Americans had zero concept of ownership?
