You like the harder version of punk, while I tended to like the lighter side myself. Your version is almost Pantera meets a really fast drummer, while I liked stupid shlt like this

Did you know that the original name to that song was "no future"?

They were convinced to change the name to be more offensive to the British government, which in retaliation the government had the BBC ban that song.

it was punk rock so offensive that a government banned it. Doesn't get much better than that!

He was on a tv show here and very salacious towards the female host, and also on that show, bad neighbours or something. And all in all a right twat.. probably nothing has changed really lol

Kinda guy you'd expect to meet after a gig who'd head but ya, and say "There's your effin autograph."

Early Butthole Surfers were a wild show.
Some may argue if it was 'punk' but they were definitely an example of something.
Kind of hard to categorize those guys.

Some good music, it almost defines today's political climate. Punk rock was predictive!

You call this punk music because it's labeled 'Punk Tastic' or you have some sense of what punk music? It's neither. FAIL. Brush up on what punk music is -- better yet what was punk.

bro, that was the acoustic version. is this also not punk rock because it's acoustic?

Is that a clown question, bro? You're equating NOFX with whatever the hell Sonic Boom Six is, purely based on their acoustic sets? Is that the equivalence you're asking me to evaluate and render a judgment on? Just wanna make sure. You can easily walk this back...nah, you're not getting away with it. Nope, whatever it is you inarticulately professed as "predictive", doesn't even hold a candle to NOFX.

I'm pretty sure the dearth of flags and stars your OP garnered is evidence of said FAIL. To add, if you weren't an antagonistic, know-it-all on these boards, I'd let your malfeasance of music critiques go, but you are that guy.

Yeah, I've heard of them - not an experience I'd care to repeat.

Hipster b.s. is punk now?

I would've posted the Kennedys but it's been done... great band.

Possibly my favourite definition of punk comes from the ATDI/Mars Volta singer "Punk rock is kids that go to the library and read books". Shame about their latest album.

Punk is a mindset, a philosophy if you will - so it can encompass a lot of different styles, I just don't hear these guys as rebellious at all, certainly in no way individualistic - I did 5 minutes of their electric set and it was dull as ditchwater. I will say the token whiteboy "rapping" mad me chuckle. They look like nice middle class kids.

If we're concerned about current music:

There's bands from hip hop through to black metal that embrace punk philosophies, hell even Tom Waits - simply by playing by their rules and not giving a damn what others think. It looks like Sonic Boom Shizz care about their hair cuts.
