More cars, more car deaths
More sugar, more diabetes deaths
Your argument makes as much statistical sense as my statements.
It’s a mental health issue or religious issue, not a gun issue as they have convinced you it is.

You need a license to drive and yes, america is also the most obese nation who consumes massive amounts of sugar.

So to protect the rights of gun crime victims, you're hot to deny me my rights?

Good to know. Blaming the tool. Why not, instead, blame the mental health problems in this country? The vast majority of firearms have never, are never, will never be, used in the perpetration of a crime.

As is too often the case, y'all want to take the easy, not to mention wrong, approach. Ban the tool. Ban the tool. That's the ever present refrain...

Why don't you lot take that energy and help deal with the real problem. Oh, that's right, that'd be too much work.

You ever seen a declawed cat get in a fight?
They tend to not fare well.
I have spent time in the wilderness and a gun was an invaluable survival tool.
Guns are here to stay. Deal with it.
There will always be a murderous crazy that creates an incident.
If they didn't have a gun they could just as easily find another instrument to deal death.
Ban rocks? Ban pointed sticks?

Exactly.

So, take all our guns so only the bad guys have them.

Talk about as ignorant as you can get.

You will never make any sense to the gun nuts, they need them so badly any logic presented to them is ridiculed, they literally do not have the capacity to see any other option, as I said in the other thread the only solution is take kids out of school or they will remain potential targets.

I was reading the other day that tourism numbers have dropped some 20% going to the U.S, there are a few reasons for this but a big one is gun nuts.

Other countries that have stricter gun laws have the same mental health issues do not have the same problem..it's disingenuous to say it has nothing to do with the gun. Having said that it's too late to change it, and I'm not advocating taking your guns..it's just the price you pay for the 2nd.
Get used to it.

Seriously?

So if/when someone is shooting at you or your family - and someone who has a concealed carry is standing up to protect you, a stranger, you'll yell 'OH MY G** YOU'RE A GUN NUT'? GET AWAY FROM ME!

No. In my opinion you'll be hiding behind them like a little girl and do a lot a ass kissing when you're saved.

Because it is coming to a town near you.

Helps with cutting down on terrorism and illegals I suppose.
On the OP, my house has numerous firearms and nobody has died. All my neighbors and brothers and sister at work too. In Chicago they are illegal. So is heroin and drinking and driving in the U.S.
There is a current topic showing how many have been stopped by the good guys. If you don't like it, then move to someplace where they are forbidden. Like Chicago..

Tourism is a huge industry, some places rely solely on it, what it does is affect the economy, it affects the average joe, less revenue from sources outside the U.S is a bad thing.....

Just for the record, I called this one last week.

I was just thinking last night that we're overdue for some more "We need to attack North Korea!" fear mongering. Glad to see we're back on schedule. Next up: "We need reasonable gun control legislation because somebody shot some people!"

As a percentage of the population there are less gun owners in the US now then there was 50 and 100 years ago.
And there are less shooting as a percentage of the population now then 50 or 100 years.

The weapons used back in those days were real machine guns and shotguns.

On this day in 1929 you had the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre in Chicago where they used "legal" machine guns and shotguns.
things have not changed much in Chicago.
My father carried a semiautomatic weapon in the UK for almost a year with no problems. But then it was during WW2.

At 19 I carried a full-auto M16 in Vietnam..

I already did the math in another thread, but forgot which one. When you factor in overall death rate in relation to percentage of population, we sit between the UK and Australia, with Australia being higher, and the UK being just about the same.

What does it matter how people die, if the same rate of people are dying in nations who castrate their citizens and force them to be victims, as are in the nation with the God given right to defend their lives with lethal force and not be prosecuted for it. The tools are irrelevant.

Living in Florida, I promise you this school shooting, as tragic as it is, will probably just increase the proliferation of firearms for self defense. In Florida, we stop caring about yesterdays news after about twelve hours, and then get back to partying and boozing it up.

Anti constitutional dictators who want to see criminals afforded the right to victimize innocent people have absolutely zero sway here. The only question here is, where was the armed guard at the school??

You used the right word. A correlation. By itself, the presence of guns has a low correlation to violence.

You hit on multivariate causality. I agree. It's complex and I do not pretend to have all the answers. I would argue since the problem is complex and actually differs from place to place, we need multiple strategies.

I did a thread a while back on this:

Take kids out of school is your answer?
And then tourism?
Because of guns?

How many kids went to school and never got shot at?
Raise your hands...

Looks like almost everybody.

So, we should not educate kids because a few disturbed people shot people?

Do you realize how ridiculous you sound?
