Trump’s lawyer confirmed the Stormy Daniels payment.

I am curious what all of you have to say about this. You would think this would have some effect on the support he garners from the evangelical crowd but I guess that is not a given in today's political climate. Now Trump's long-time lawyer acknowledges he made the payment to the porn star... another day, another lie coming to light.

Here's the meat of what Cohen said Tuesday: In a private transaction in 2016, I used my own personal funds to facilitate a payment of $130,000 to Ms. Stephanie Clifford [Daniels's real name]. Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly. The payment to Ms. Clifford was lawful and was not a campaign contribution or a campaign expenditure by anyone.

Lawyer paid her shut up and go away money. Doesn't necessarily mean guilt. Sometimes it is cheaper and easier to just pay someone to go away. In fact, many accusers often have this as the goal.

With that said, I would not be surprised that Trump banged her. I mean Trump is a known playboy/cheater. It is part of his image. No one with two brain cells voted for Trump because of his family values. I know I didn't. Trump has never claimed to be a uptight family man. I could care less.

Trump was elected as a screw you to the establishment and for his policy positions; not because he goes to Church on Sundays.

We have lowered the bar a long time ago around presidential expectations let alone expectations for the average person...it only means something when you dislike the other person or otherwise it's the norm...I hope his wife leaves him unless they reconciled already..

The fact that the lawyer admits that she was paid is highly suspect.

It's also worth noting that she didn't come for a payday until he was running for office.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I say something's real fishy about this.

First, if he was acting on Trump's behalf, how could Trump's attorney make such a statement without violating attorney/client confidentiality?

Second, if this was a "settlement" to keep her from talking publicly, then why is she still talking? I find it hard to believe that this guy is such a crappy attorney that he "settled" without actually "settling" anything.

Third, if Trump was not aware of the situation, how could the attorney "settle" anything for Trump?

So are we really sure that this attorney was acting for Trump? From what I see, it's more likely that the attorney was NOT acting on Trump's behalf, and he paid Ms. Daniels to make these claims publicly.

Bill Clinton paid $850,000 to Paula Jones. Does that mean he was guilty?

Most likely it's all hush money to make the accusations go away.

Don't really care what Trump did in his personal life, or if his lawyer felt the need to pay off some adult film star.

People knew what kind of person Trump was before they decided to support him.

The problem is not Trump's actions. The problem is the self righteousness and moral superiority, not to mention virtue signaling, of those that support him.

Well, not all of his supporters. I assume some are good people.

This is so true....pay to make it go away. Wither it is true or not. And the fact that she only came forward when he ran for president reminds me of all the women being paid to make accusations in 2016.

The irony of it all is that most of the Bible loving, God fearing Christians in America will still vote for Trump because of the letter R.

Cohen said it had nothing to do with trump so no client attorney privilege. But we all know it had to do with trump. They're trying to protect him from the consequences of using campaigns funds to pay off a sex film actress.
