Why do you only have Medicare part A? When I was on SSDI after 2 years Medicare automatically kicked in and both part A and B was included. Did you opt out of B some way? If you did, a big mistake you need to correct.

I don't have to quote subsidized rent on my return, so you could be right about this....
I'm sorry to hear about what happened in the ER. Did you follow this up with a complaint to your State's medical board?
I hope that your daughter is ok and that everything worked out for her.
Thank you for your kind words!

I have Medicare Part A only because when I became eligible for it, I couldn't afford total Medicare and Federal Employee Health Benefits at the same time. Part A is free.
Eventuall, FEHB grew to be so expensive I couldn't afford to use it, so I gave it up. I then tried to get the rest of Medicare I need and was informed of that late signup fee.
I'm still trying to get someone in the gov't to get that reversed. They had a temporary waiver for it last year but I didn't qualify. Not sure why unless it's because I no longer work for the gov't.

Don't worry. I won't stay quiet until the Lord takes me home (which is probably what tptb want anyway for people like me)
