One of Britain’s biggest charities covered up the use of prostitutes by senior aid workers in earthquake-torn Haiti.

A Times investigation has found that Oxfam, which receives £300 million a year in British government funds and public donations, allowed three men to resign and sacked four for gross misconduct after an inquiry into sexual exploitation, the downloading of pornography, bullying and intimidation.

Major Charity covered up prostitution n Haiti

This is sick, and I cannot believe it's taken 8 years to hit the front page. Bigwigs at charity OXFAM were paying girl(I assume just girls), for sex after the earthquake in Haiti. How could someone live with themselves? The thing is, if these guys did it, you can bet other "charities" did the same thing.

OXFAM should not be allowed to do business anymore. Ths is why I no longer give to any charities.

Why is this a surprise to you..?

I’m a little hesitant to tell you that organized religion, education and medical care are suspect as well. But only a little hesitant...truth gotta come from somewhere.

OXFAM do amazing work. Don't let isolated incidents mar their record. The measure is how they dealt with these issues when they came to tight. In the Haiti case people were sacked.

I give to charities because they do good in places that I would never go to.

The whole charity can't be shut down because of a few individuals. It's disgusting that this happened, butvthe organization likely employs hundreds of people who have never thought to take advantage of earthquake victims.

The article mentioned the men who used protitutes were resigned or fired, and unfortunately there likely isn't anything that England can charge them with, since the incidents happened in Haiti.

Maube the UN could get involved? (Controversial. ) But unless the men acted on orders from Oxfam, Oxfam can't be punished severely for their actions.

Naw , they have a track record of not being able to cover their own corruption. What makes you think they would be more effective with covering someone else's ___ ?

Its hardly a surprise. I was raised a strict christian, but after I joined the air force and saw the world, my views have gone 180. If there was really a god, those people would have been cast to the lions!

Read both articles, this happened in 2010, and they covered it up until they got caught. It's only on the newspapers today, so that tells me it was more important to protect their own than those kids. Also, they embezzled money in Pakistan. The worst thing is, they receive 300 million from the UK government every year.

The guy was allowed to resign after ADMITTING to having an orgy at the OXFAM HQ....which they called the Eagles Nest of all things. Check out his Facebook page. I wonder if those are grandkids or lovers. Surely charges could come from somewhere besides Haiti!

I think it funny

Abortion is murder: telling a women what she can do with her body is mysoginistic

Telling a women, she shouldn’t have to many sexual partners: telling a women what she can do with her body is mysoginistic and slut shaming

A women wants $50 dollars for a sexual act: not telling a women what she can do with her body is mysoginistic.

ouch .

In 2010, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) sent a team of veteran officers to Haiti to assist in the rebuilding of its police force with special training in investigative techniques, strategies to improve the anti-kidnapping personnel and community outreach to build stronger relationships with the public especially among the youth. It has also helped the HNP set up a police unit in the center of Delmas, a neighborhood of Port-au-Prince.[188][189][190] In 2012 and 2013, 150 HNP officers received specialized training funded by the US government, which also contributed to the infrastructure and communications support by upgrading radio capacity and constructing new police stations from the most violent-prone neighborhoods of Cité Soleil and Grande Ravine in Port-au-Prince to the new northern industrial park at Caracol.[190]

And the reason we went in in 2001 to fight the Taliban was because the Taliban, being hardline Muslims, was strongly against the heroin trade, and was shutting down the drug labs.

Note that Osama bin Laden was eventually discovered in Pakistan. I've yet to see any compelling evidence he was ever living in a cave in Afghanistan.
