Agreed....the optics were very bad for them, the shut down was even called the "Schumer Shutdown".

And really, I do not think DACA is going to go without border wall funding. The President seems firm on that, as I think he should be.

Trump's demands are: Border Wall funding, an end to chain migration, and an end to the visa lottery (meaning a switch to merit-based immigration). He's said he won't sign DACA without those.

Fiscally I would vote for (swallows vomit) Bill Clinton if he were running. We need fiscal responsibility.

,

Bill Clinton was not a fiscal conservative.

Everything that's said bout the balanced budget is nonsense.

It was the 3 card Monte.

Schumer is a weak idiot. The GOP was doing a better job of messaging because they always do a better job of messaging because they're all *always* saying the *exact* same thing.

So what's he do? He gets nervous and blinks first.

If he didn't have the stomach for it, they should've rolled over in the first place. Now they've actually lost ground and are worse off then when they started.

Pathetic.

So obviously whatever Trump and the Republicans did to "cause" the shutdown, they undid it? No? The Democrats had to change their position to end the shutdown? How could that be? We were all told by Chuck Schumer this was Trump's fault. How could the Democrats end the shutdown if they had nothing to do with causing it?

The gullible masses that take every word Schumer says as gospel can just ignore this, I know it wreaks havoc on your talking points.

I think the real issue they aren't discussing is the fact that China stopped buying treasury bonds 1 week ago. That caused the bond market to burp, everybody freaked out.

Because, the fed has been slowly raising interest rates and if the Chinese stop buying bonds then rates will rise much faster than everyone anticipates. If rates rise then stocks will fall, it's as simple as that. And stocks are now their number 1 policy tool, until they crash then they'll say well stocks are cyclical.

China was supposed to start issuing oil futures contracts denominated in yuan, convertible to gold bullion on the 18th. But then nothing happened or at least I haven't seen any news yet on an actual auction.

That's the key there because once they start issuing those futures contracts they will most likely stop buying US debt, and then our government will find it very difficult to deficit spend by issuing new bonds, because the fed said they are stopping the purchase of bonds and are supposedly going to sell off some bonds, reverse QE.

In other words it's a cluster fox trot.

The democrats are basically equivalent to a kennel of beat dogs at this point. They simply have no cards left to play. The shutdown was nothing more than frantic last-gasp desperately ineffective effort to salvage anything that can even remotely referred to as relevance. The President did nothing more than simply step to the side and smile while they walked right into it.

Karma's a bitch.

If I was forced to come up with a description, the word "Refreshing" is the first thing that comes to mind.

The greatest thing about Donald Trump is the fact that he's in charge. Well, that and the inner peace that comes with the realization that it just gets better from here.
