This could be me now

When we take a look at what we are
of course, we can look at ourselves right now
or we can go back and look at what happened to us.
Each and every one of us can pinpoint a day
when something terrible happened to us
or something wonderful happened to us
There's most certainly a tendency
to take the sum of everything that has happened to us
and say this is me.
But the more I look at that way of believing
the more I find a faultline embedded in belief.
So when we are born supposedly nothing has happened to us
apart from birth and that happens to us, all the same, whatever.
Some more painful than others, but there we have it birth.
From that point on we are told so many things
that if we believe them we could be so far away from who we are.
Eventually, we even start saying yes this is me
or this is not me. What happens, we believe it.
Then changes happen and we say
No......... this is not me Im not like that anymore.
This lead one to think, hey this supposed fixed me
is not. In fact, it is a changing me.
Thus we get, I've changed belief arriving.
After a few years of that, we may or not ask
well, am I not conning myself that all I am is a series of beliefs.
A series of definitions.............
Sounds like really bad new that one.
Best bet from here for me is I am none of the above,
these are just definitions of how I am working at one given time.
So to end this chatter on a funny note, why not?
