Can anyone suggest a decent site for free desktop icons?

If you are running Windows XP, then you can go to:

www.wincustomize.com...

You can also download some really neat cursors as well. And in using
the programs associated with the custom icons and cursors, I've never
encountered a single problem.

Yep! I'm starting to realize that I'll probably have to create them myself as I can't find anything that grabs me. Now I just have to tweek the XP settings as to get rid of those stupid little arrows on the icons.

ThemeXP has some really neat ones.

To get rid of those pesky arrows, and some other features, get TweakUI an MS Powertoy. The download is on the right side, just get TweakUI, unless you want all the others too.

Finally, StyleXP is really good at adding Icon sets, and themes and such to Windows.
