So when was Trump given a mental health evaluation, where he sat down with a fully qualified liscenced mental health person and a statement on record of such?

Contrary to what many are saying and thinking, the only time a doctor would even look at neurological health, is if there is a concern for such, and then it usually is brought up to said doctor by someone who would intimately know the person. Beyond that, and I have this on experience, doctors would not go into doing any sort of neurological testing or even looking at mental health, unless there is just cause that warrants such.

I don't think any mental health specialists are qualified to accurately gauge whether a President is mentally fit to stay in office. If that President was so obviously crazy, Congress would remove him/her ASAP. No psychiatric exam is needed.

Many great men and women of history would be classified as "unstable" by today's arrogant psychiatric community.

This is not about Obama, or the entire birther issue. Obama is not President, he left office after serving 8 years. So why bring him up now, save to distract from the question and issue now.

The topic here is on Trump, presidential health and mental health. And that the current laws do not demand that the president of the USA have a mental health evaluation, even though there is precedent in the past where such may be a good idea, to ensure that the man is mentally capable of handling the stresses of the job.

And what you are grasping is that there is precedent for the President to have a mental health evaluation every year.

Older people, usually those about Trump age, maybe a bit younger, around 60, start to develop a wide range of physical and mental problems at that stage of life. Dementia, is never really seen or diagnosed, until the person has gone through it for a few years. And while Trump may be physically fit, the question of his mental capacity is of concern and one that we should be concerned with and think about. Several times in the past, presidents have either had mental health issues, due to the stress of the job, or it had developed in the course of their life and it started to affect them.

So while no the man is not required for such, perhaps it is a good idea for him to have such, that way it would prevent a few things, that have been suggested, and talked about both in public and in private.

Indeed. There are countless jobs that require an applicant to past a psychological test and psycho-analysis to be considered for the position.
Many jobs require certain qualities that cannot be measured on a resume or in an interview - such self-motivation, agreeableness, emotional stability, self-control, ability to handle stress, interpersonal skills, impulse control, judgement, reasonable courage, honesty and integrity, dependability and so on and so forth.
Careers like police (and other law enforcement), military, pilots, some teaching positions and astronauts are require applicants to be mentally fit... (I'm sure we can all come up with several dozen more examples.)

Yet, what could be considered one of the hardest and possibly the most stressful positions on the planet basically allows anyone to apply and take office?
Just imagine the kind of tests, selection criteria and training a CIA, NSA, General or - to use a hyperbole - an Area 51 employee has to go through before they are allowed anywhere near the term employee. Yet, an elderly businessman from Queens can walk right into a position senior to all those people? Somehow, it just doesn't seem right, does it?

Nonetheless, it should be assumed that a nutjob would be fleshed out by the people. Alomg with the need to not politicize psychology. Lets face it: its not a science and is really not fully accepted by a lot of folks because if this. To use a pseudoscience as a political weapon is unconscionable.
