Of course, they make more money. We are no longer in a single marketplace. We are in an emerging global market. And technology is allowing corporations to reach across the world so they at tapping into a much larger marketplace than ever before, therefore, they will make more money because the pie is much bigger. However, we are competing against all the other countries. You have to give your own corporations advantages over other countries, otherwise, America's wealth would be extracted instead of other countries. As the third worlds catch up with the first worlds, you want the bleeding to happen least as possible to your own country and rather have the bleeding to come from the other 1st world countries instead. It will continue until the world's wealth is equalized with the third worlds. This is an unstoppable force, but you can make it hurt less by implementing America First policies which is exactly what Trump is doing.

Don't listen to the Democrats, they are extremely ignorant of global economics or they know but are just demagoguing for votes.

In the 50's and 60's and 70's companies were making money hand over fist, workers had legitimate jobs with livable wages, people could, in general, trust they would have a relatively secure retirement (if they stayed reasonably healthy) - well white folks could anyway.

And you know what? The top tax rate was 70%. Let that sink in for a bit and then cogitate on the fact that if Reagan had not cut the tax rate the U.S. Government accounts would have been in surplus by the middle of the first Clinton administration. That is the entire World War II and Korean War and Moon Landing and Viet Nam War paid off in FULL.

We will now be paying off this GOP War On The Economy (and that is exactly what it is) for the next 60 years, at least.
