I've been looking into getting a new computer. All I have now is a laptop. I am currently looking into a gaming setup but dont want to break the bank. Im going to look around and see what there us to offer.

I seen some mining set ups for about 4 grand. That is a little out of my league at the moment..

What was the out of pocket expense of that setup?

I haven't built one of these. My RPIs are being used as airgapped crypto coin vaults and real-time portfolio tracker/trading platform.

I average either $100 gain or $100 loss everyday.

Been looking at those usb miners. They don't look like they are worth it.

I can't do anything else with my pc right now when I mine.

I spent all night looking into the 1060 GTX 6gb also. I found a video of how to make the cheapest mining rig possible.

The only problem I have at the moment is that I live out in the middle of corn fields. A stable internet connection could be a problem.

.3 ethereum mined in one month is now worth about $424.

Damnit, I feel like I'm missing out. Lol

The ole lady is getting mad at me. She likes to spend money and I'm over here trying to figure out how to make it.

Right.

If you would have sat on it for 6 months without spending it.

Don't know if things have changed(might change when china cracks down on miners), but last I checked Bitcoin asics were halving profitability every couple of months.

GPUs seem like they have more general use and can be resold more easily while achieving similar $$$ output in altcoins.

I think something like this would better serve the alt-coin miner.

Trying to mine BTC with an RPI cluster, regardless of its size, would be stupid.

I've really been thinking bout mining.

Video card prices are being gouged because of crypto mining.

Both the manufacturer, and the reseller are ripping people off.

There's a couple of ways of looking at it.

You could spend a snip load of money on a new system. That will become less profitable by the day.

Or you could put the same amount in crypto and make more in the long run.

You decide.

Both ASIC and desktop graphic cards suffer the same probelm.

As the difficulty increases. Takes longer to turn a profit.

Why are so many selling their rigs ?

LMAO.

We can pre-program your mining rig, so all you have to do is Plug it in and Turn it on.Send us your Ethereum, Monero, ZCash, Ubiq, Musicoin wallet ID if you wold like us to pre-program miber for you

Ethereum rig

There actually an idiot out there that would do it.

Let's do the math.

$1800 for the half of the rig.

$1,000 for each card for a total of 6 cards. Equals $6,000.

$7,800.

And if it really did get 185.5 Mh/s consistently over the next year.

You'd theoretically make $792 bucks a month. Which Equals $9504

www.cryptocompare.com...

For a grand total of $1,704 profit.

But near the end it would become obsolete.

Crypto mining is for people that already have money.
