The uncompromising way Obama handled it (dont forget the kindergarten restrooms where any demented kid could claim to 'need' the other room and exploit it for sexual deviancy), and the white knights have screamed rioted even to support posture, all to torpedo the GOP, it really is sad to Obama DNC hold the trans people out as sacrificial lambs like that as it shouldnt take a rocket scientist to have been able to predict it would piss people off and cause all this division when prior to that nobody even cared.

No one asks you if you are a transgender when you enlist. It's not like Trump's transgender ban can be enforced in the first place. Most transgenders opt out of sex change surgery.

So a combat infantry troop of decoration after more than a decade of service, with the military approval is not OK with you to get the surgery?

Personally I could care less if they want bat wings to come out of their forehead if they are effective weapons against the enemy.

The military does not accept applicants who may adversely affect other service members. They don't accept people with criminal records. They don't accept murderers. They don't accept druggies. The don't accept Down syndrome people. Transgenders do not affect other service members. So there is no need to ban them from enlisting.

Same with Females in combat roles same physical requirements as men if you can't make it find another job.

Because men do horrible things in war especially to females and I also don't agree with male and female units but I'm all for exclusive female combat units

Yeah, that was a dumb attitude, and they’re over it now.

Just because you are a transgender person, it doesn’t mean you can be compared to a criminal or a murderer or a druggie, or a person with Down’s Syndrome. It’s time to get over the dumb attitude.

Gender dysphoria itself is not considered a mental illness. The dysphoria can cause problems like depression and anxiety, which ARE considered mental illnesses to be treated. Part of the treatment includes transitioning to the point that the other symptoms (depression/anxiety) are greatly reduced.

Determining dexterity, acute motor-skills, critical thinking skills, sound mind, an ability to work in a team or alone, reliable, punctual, willing to give your life to save another.

Anyone who qualifies against these criteria can advance to the next stage of recruitment - medical and psychological exams.

If you pass a US military medical and psych process, then you're doing very well.

During the recruitment process your religious & political slant will be discussed, as too with your sexual orientation - it all comes out.

So, if after all that, one is deemed qualified to engage the enemy as a soldier/sailor/marine in the US military, then that is all there is to it..............in a perfect world, which this ain't, by a long shot.

Military units, like professional sports teams, perform at their best when they are a cohesive tight-knit group of individuals that know each other well, are well trained and have each others backs, even unto death.

The real test here will be how transgender new recruits conduct themselves when bonding with existing military personnel, and likewise how existing personnel will conduct themselves when bonding with transgender new recruits.

I have a feeling that when your life is on the line on the battlefield, anyone that has your back should be considered a bonded brother or sister - genders and religions and politics and skin colors become totally moot.

If you are physically and mentally able to perform the duties of a member of the armed services, then you should be given the honor of doing so.

It's really that simple.
