My mother spent years in denial.

Still never wanted to be a boy though or made the mistake of thinking I was one.

You're joking right? No kid needs a fake penis to wear under their pants to support their trans decision. Not even an adult needs it. And if a kid is even thinking for a second he/she might be trans, then that is an even bigger issue. Kids only know what that is after someone tells them and being a kid at such a young age is not the time to be "curious" about their sexuality. let alone wearing a fake penis under their pants.

Hmmm, don't know if you are wrong or right. I was directing the comment that they were selling sex toys, not about the psychological aspects of affirming a gender choice etc. However, based on my experience working with trans children and their parents its not a learned behavior, its not something they googled and decided to try out in real cases.

Hence my comment relating this to ADHD. Just as a general pediatric MD should not diagnose nor treat ADHD, rather a Peds Neurologist that specialized in it should, the same with trans issues.

and Again look to my comment on page 2. The marketplace will decide if this is something that is needed or not. My guess is that this website will die simply because there is not enough demand for its products. However, given the general level of angst displayed in just this thread they may get an undue level of free advertising thus keeping their business afloat.

Speaking of adhd, do you remember when there was an explosion of cases, all of a sudden all these kids were being diagnosed, then it turned out some doctors were invested in ritelin and we're handing the drugs out like candy?

This is child abuse! Pure and simple. They need to send "mom" to how to be a woman school. The dads needs his/their man card revoked. Insanity appears to be winning.

Yeah thats why I made that comparison. in that case well meaning Pediatricians and General practice MD's followed revised guidelines that had alot of nuance and required actual observations and evidence collection before diagnosing. You coupled this with overcrowded public schools and district psychologists who in effect were trying to create well behaved zombies in said overcrowded classroom, and well meaning parents who get that advice and want to do well by their children and you created a perfect storm. A whole generation on ritalin.

I see that here too. In the case of trans children, you need several specialist to confirm the diagnosis then you proceed IMHO.

Given the vitriol in the thread among some, what exactly is so threatening about a kid with gender identity issues?

I believe the kids that genuinely have issues should get the help they need, my concern comes from abuse from A medical system that is for profit and if course parents that are so utterly clueless they end up doing more harm than good.

I agree with you 100% we saw this play out with ADHD, an should proceed but proceed with caution

if they are so gullible and easily manipulated and it should be a piece of cake to just manipulate them right back....but that is DEFINITELY NOT the case..

think about this...if they have these inserts and they feel more NORMAL maybe they won't feel the need to have surgery.....isn't this a better choice because I am sure you think having reassignment surgery is a million times worse than this
