Lost in this brouhaha:

In making these announcements, I also want to make one point very clear: This decision is not intended, in any way, to reflect a departure from our strong commitment to facilitate a lasting peace agreement. We want an agreement that is a great deal for the Israelis and a great deal for the Palestinians.

The Palestinians aren't against a peace plan, they just won't deal with the US anymore. Can you blame them?Way to go Trump.

I think every one should back off let the Palestinians and the Israelis fight it out. Let them decide once and for all whose it is.

I think Israel would like that too. Axes vs tanks. You'd have peace then. You would also no longer have Palestinians.

There never were Palestinians that was made up by yasser Arafat.Palestinians do not have ancient roots in the area and are trying to invent origins for themselves they are refugees from Jordan. most of the Palestinians arrived as part of the waves of immigration that began in the nineteenth century at the time of the emergence of Zionism, attracted by employment opportunities and economic benefits.

Historically speakingThe Arab occupation of the Land of Israel lasted from 640 to 1071, roughly 400 years. The Seljuks, Muslim Turks, conquered the land from the Arabs, but on the eve of the First Crusade, they lost it to the Fatimid who ruled it until 1099, when the Crusaders took over. Saladin, who was not an Arab, but a Muslim Kurd from Iraq, defeated the Crusaders in 1187 and ruled until his death (1192). Following the Battle of Hattin and the conquest of Jerusalem by Saladin in 1187, he took over other parts of the country while the Crusaders maintained their hold over the rest. An agreement signed by his successors with the Crusaders returned the Galilee to them and they moved their capital to Acre. The Mamelukes, Muslim Turks, conquered the Land of Israel from the Crusaders in 1260 and ruled it until 1516, when it was taken over by the Ottoman Turks who ruled the Land of Israel for 400 years. The Muslim rule in the Land of Israel ended in 1918 and a Mandate over the country was given to the British.

Many charters of Islamic groups or countries call for the elimination of the state of israel.

Because "Israel" has been killing and oppressing their fellow "Muslims" since the Jews illegally occupied Palestine after WWII.

Well there you go.

You admit that the Palestinians want to wipe out Israel.

Now why is where the U.S. embassy at relevant?

Don't care if you call them purple people eaters. They were displaced. The Israeli are doing to them what the US did to the natives. slowly, or not so slowly, moved them out.

They are fools then..... any peace plan will most probably be brokered by the one nation who has done the most Peace deals in that region. Guess who that is?

Palestine should deal with the devil if it gets them the State they desire.

But No the Palestinians will always dither while generations of their Citizens languish.

Idiots.

They were not displaced the Arab league just refuses to allow them to return to Jordan. Why do you think the Arab countries built walls around them like in Egypt refusing to allow them in? Egypt could end this even Jordan all it requires is removing walls they built.

They don't want peace they were offered a two state solution and the Arab world rejected it. They want the Jews removed completely from the area. Until they come to the reality thats not going to happen there will be no peace.

How do you explain the fact that 17% of Palestine's population is Jewish then?

And for some reason none of that mattered.

Yet the U.S. moving a building, that is a step too far.

Jerusalem is site of the (EDIT: Dome of the Rock), one of three Holy Sites in Islam. How did you expect them to react when it was made a Jewish Capital City?

The temple of Solomon predates the Dome.

"Palestinians" are just Jordanian refugees.

That’s an interesting claim you have parroted...
The supposed quote that “Palestinians do not exist” is also attributed to Zuheir Mohsen as well.

Let us know when you Zionists have come to an agreement on which villain made this highly alleged but so far unprovable claim.

Goebbels would have been proud of the propaganda effort used for that angle, for sure.

Because it was created that way to exclude Jews. Following the withdrawals of Egypt from Sinai and Gaza (1982) and Jordan from the West Bank (1988), the State of Palestine proclaimed its independence on 15 November 1988. Still amazes me people try to rewrite history and it wasn't even that long ago. People have short memories.

Woooosh.

I was being facetious. Highlighting your irrelevant generalised statement, with an equally ridiculous narrative.

I get it though, the suffering of the holocaust justifies everything to some.
Wonder if people will ever tell the victims descendants to get over it like so many tell African Americans to do with slavery or Jim Crow?

That’ll go down well, I’m sure of it!

Plenty of Arabs there too who never left, but you don’t accept the title Palestinian...
So how is it you can say Jew = Israeli?

Someone's been rewriting history all right. That region was 30% Jewish in 1946. 88% four years later. Over a million non-Jews disappeared over that time.

You know you're talking about the eradication of approx 3 million people, right? People.

Unlikely. A war to wipe out the Palestine State does not mean killing everyone.
There is either peace, war, or endless terrorism (as a form of fighting against a greater foe). Abbas seems to want to end any hope of peace, and endless terrorism is worse in the long run. Leaves war and the end of Palestine, leaving it as just another state lost to history.

If Abbas does not want peace, then he's sealing his own fate and the fate of Palestine. His childish and over emotional reaction to where the US embassy WILL be is the kind of mentality the world can do without.

The constant arguments about who has the right to the land and how many people were there at any time is banal. It is a distraction to the here and now and a solution that is acceptable to both sides. If the starting point is ..."It's ours"... then there is zero hope for any peace. Are you, for example, prepared to give up your home and land you have now and give it back to the people that were there first? Should the whole world be reshaped based on the earliest known history of settlements? Like I said, banal.

Beautiful way to sweep the Palestinians claims under the carpet. We're only talking about 70 years ago.
