FBI Fires Suspected Leaker And Comey Ally James Baker

Just hours after FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe delivered private testimony to the House Intelligence Committee, his boss, FBI Director Christopher Wray, announced that the bureau’s top lawyer would be leaving his post, an attempt to bring in “new blood” to an agency whose reputation has been hopelessly compromised by revelations that agents’ partisan bias may have influenced two high-profile investigations involving President Donald Trump and his former campaign rival, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

As the Washington Post reported, the FBI’s top lawyer, James Baker, is being reassigned. WaPo says Baker’s removal is part of Wray’s effort to assemble his own team of senior advisers while he tries to defuse allegations of partisanship that have plagued the bureau in recent months.

But reports published over the summer said Baker was “the top suspect” in an interagency leak investigation...

Strzok, Ohr, and now this guy. Baker was supposedly a close buddy of James Comey. Apparently he's going to be subpoenaed by the House Intelligence Committee. So now we'll see if he ignores the subpoena, pleads the Fifth to every question, or suddenly develops memory problems severe enough to make Nancy Pelosi say "Damn, what's the matter with you, hoss?"

May not need to be subpoenaed but the option is there

Seems to me that an awful lot of people who attend the HIC suffer from memory loss...especially the Trump TeePeepee, Carter Page, Flynn, Donald the junior...Mr Recusor, etc etc....maybe they should all be retired to a care home!

The FBI is not supposed to be politically aligned in their workplace. Impartiality needs to be considered an important trait in something like this. It is hard to get a good verdict in a kangaroo court.

But wait!!!

I have been assure by the media, democrats and even ats members that the FBI is totally impartial and professional! In fact, to even question the FBI is hurting our country!

So why would people need to be reassigned?

This must be fake news!

Since when are law enforcement agents not allowed to have their own personal political beliefs , and they are not allowed to prosecute/investigate those with different views????

If a gop cop is investigating a democrat, does that make him inherently biased???

Does that mean he will fake evidence ??

Of course not..

This is just ridiculous on its face if you try and apply that logic to every job...

As has been shown a million times, this is more than just having a political opinion.

We are discussing people high in both the investigation of Hillary and trump praising hillary, calling trump and his family douche bags, saying he can smell trump supporters at a wal mart.

But ok, lets say fine, those are just words.

Then we see how many of Muellers team donated to Hillary.

Ok fine, we can still deal with that.

Then we see people on Muellers team that worked as lawyers defending Hillary and her team, and are now investigating her rival.

Thats crazy, but fine.

Then we see DOJ people meeting wi8th the firm that did the dossier, and find out his wife was one of gthe people working on it!

But fine, still we will look the other way.

After all of that, I will still for the sake of argument allow that none of this would prove the investigation would suffer from bias.

So lets see what the investigations looked like.

Well we know that the very people that interveiwed Hillary and her people knew that Mills and Huma lied to the fbi, but did not charge them. But the very same people did charge trump people for lying to the FBI.

We know that Muellers team and the FBI has been stonewalling oversight committees, refusing to tell them anything about the dossier, why Strzok was demoted, and many other things.

We know that the FBI and Muellers team have illegally ;eaked over and over to hurt Trump.

So yes, given the statements, donations, and previous working for Hillary over trump, and the fact that we can see the problems i listed in the investigation, I think this is a big deal.

And the fact that people are being demoted seems to show this.

Why do you not say Mueller did the leaking? ....every other right wing outlet has said that.
Funny enough though, the OP uses the word, (suspected leaker) here, so it's only suspected, while you go the, 'we know' full Monty..

Let's see now, what about Trump himself..or some of his team, getting feedback from a Grand Jury source, or FBI whatever? How would you think Trump, (or some of his team with resources) would act with that info?...when they know that someone is going to have charges laid against them anyway, yep, leak it to the press themselves, and cry wolf about it and looking for sympathy....it's just as valid a scenario.

Anyway, God knows where this enquiry will lead to...(well a deal of it may not be that surprising) The Grand Jury in Washington beavering away with their subpoenas, while the other Grand Jury in Virginia is quietly working away obtaining documents etc...perhaps the real bad stuff...who knows?
No wonder Trump will do his upmost to scupper the investigation, fair means or foul, but let's face it, he is in a bad position now, too much bad water under the bridge, and any attempt now to kick Mueller into touch will be the final straw for the Washington heads....and the hackles will be up all round.
So, it really doesn't matter what we think one way or the other at the end of the day.

I don't know which specific people on Mueller team are leaking. But it is fact that some of them are.

As for what we think, yes it does matter.

Having a corrupt fbi that is in the bag for one political party is more frightening than anything anyone on trumps team is accused of.

JW makes a great point as to who might be guarding the hen house as far as drugs and other crimes and it involves top officials in the JD ... I expect that a review of this charters work may have to be done . Its not like the corrupt system wouldn't or couldn't put a innocent party in jail .

That obviously, can work both ways once the assumption is made, as you have, there is no one wearing halos anyway. However my guess is that any evidence discovered will speak for itself anyway.

As for sources,
Just think back to the publishing of the dossier itself, much of the mainstream knew about it, had been told about it, or had seen pages of it, and said nothing.
Steele himself had told confidante reporters of what he had found, and it was published by the online blog, as coming from Mr X/aka Steele, but most of all, the FBI and the CIA didn't mention it either, but they were already taking the dossier seriously and investigating, never mind that Manafort was already in the picture, it wasn't Muellers concern until he was appointed, then the dossier became his roadmap...not evidence, but the starter for ten, Manafort and Flynn, and most likely some to come, were actually old info...the roadmap is Mueller's entitlement to take things much further, and he's doing that, and there is no good reason for him to stop, and I'm sure he knows that well....so does Trump.

Trump however, went bonkers with tweets...even one where he said Hillary got the dossier to get back at him for her losing the election...totally out of time nonsense, and of course that CNN was fake news...when it was correct about the dossier.
The thing is, you should really be analysing everything, but you stop at the point of anything Trump, which makes no sense....loyalty might be considered a good thing, but still needs to be somewhat rational, (there's no such thing as alternative facts) as for loyalty to Trump, that's something he demands, while loyalty from Trump is non-existent.

As for a corrupt FBI, again where is your perception? Was Snowden a spy, maybe corrupt, and I don't recall anybody making a deal of what political affiliation he had...he was though a leaker, and probably pissed off a lot of people, mostly well heeled spies I should imagine, is anyone arguing fake news there?
Trump though first would have had him hanged, then assassinated...(maybe I got the order wrong) and Hillary, he was putting her in jail...Trump supporters wanted to "hang the bitch" in the end, Trump acquiesced to Comey's findings, so nothing...Nada..but still, he got a lot of people indigestion through rage, and quite a few hurt with his gub alone.
Is it any wonder that his biographer calls Trump a threat to America's democracy, and a shocking threat to the world...
it's not every day you hear that in New York about a sitting President.

He leaked the Don jr interview.

Do you suppose that the goal of a career FBI agent specializing in counterintelligence is to be assigned to the HR Department? That is what happened to one of these guys. None of them got a promotion. They were demoted.
You continue to press the point that Obama was a self-admitted dog eater, but unless you are Indonesian, he probably didn't eat your dog.

Looks like anyone who can collaborate what Comey said about the loyalty pledge and trumps asking him to stop the investigation into Mike Flynn are being systematically eliminated.

Well thats true. You realize this is just a ploy to discredit anything and anyone who can testify in the obstruction of justice case right? Anyone who can't see that is viewing the world through orange colored lenses.
