Humanity's Screwed!

The other night I was talking to my buddy about the general state of the world, you know one of those chats you have over a few beers. It got me thinking about how I have been wanting to post a thread like this for quite some time but at the same time can’t really be bothered putting in the work required to do this topic justice.

So, here is the lazy version…. without sources because we all have Google and I want to keep this short!

Yes, you have read the title correctly, its doom porn and I know, these topics have all been discussed before but when you look at the challenges facing humanity there is only one conclusion. We’re screwed.

We all know about the catastrophe that man-made climate change has brought about, the devastating impact that humanity has had on our atmosphere. We all see the ever-stronger storms and hear about the risk of continued greenhouse gas emissions that are going to drown us all. It sounds pretty apocalyptic; we humans have destroyed our once beautiful green and blue ball.

But let’s say you don’t believe in man-made climate change (because who trusts science right?) well we’re still all pretty much screwed. We are running out of our finite supply of fossil fuels which look set to runout before the turn of the next century. So far, our best alternative seems to be building nuclear power plants, but let’s face it, nobody wants to deal with the small issue of radiation.

Running out of fossil fuels will be good for one thing though, the ocean, which we have now turned into the biggest garbage dump in the known universe. At least when the oil runs out we won’t be able to continue pumping our oceans full of plastic that gets into our food chain.

Probably the best thing that could happen for mother earth is for mankind to die out, harsh I know but it could save the planet. Ohhhh and because we have overused antibiotics so much it might just happen once they stop working, which they will, and it’s probably going to be sooner than most people realise. It’s not all bad though, might be something else kills us off before the antibiotics stop working and we all die from infections. Yellowstone could finally pop, we could have a new plague, the aliens might have some sympathy for Earth by doing mother nature a favour or we might just all kill each other in a nuclear holocaust.

Speaking of nuclear holocaust, I think that’s where am putting my money on how we will finally end it all. I don’t want to get too deep into politics but I think everyone can agree the left vs right dogma is reaching new levels of the extreme on both sides who seem so preoccupied with one-upping the other side that they have failed to actually do anything to address these major global issues. Perhaps when we have that massive economic global collapse that’s due in the next few years after building a fiat economy built on debt upon debt they might actually do something.

By then though it will be too late, actually I am starting to think it already is too late and we are slowly sitting back watching the end of humanity on the 6 o’clock news then running to twitter talk about what silly Trump said, while totally oblivious to the apocalypse going on around us.

Don't worry. The sun is set to head into potentially a new Maunder-style minimum. All we need are one or maybe two VEI 6 level volcanic eruptions and we could head out of the nice interglacial we've been in.

That would do the trick nicely.

Settin here..... the smell of empty beer cans, can't find one sandal, cold....... oh hell.....if I sleep, it will all go away, .........I can do that... ..... .. .

Of course, I will concentrate on the good things around me and doing the best I can to make the world around me better.

If you aren't willing to do that, then nothing will ever have any chance of changing.

Yeah I agree, if it's not nukes that do us In it may be civil unrest, as the wealthy consolidate their wealth the majority will wake one day and just go full retard, and tear the whole system down . Now to go think happy thoughts....

Thats a pretty cool saying.

So I guess we could say though it looks like pretty soon its all going to work out....with us ending.

You drink beer out of a can ? As far as I'm concerned the world can end now if I have to drink aluminium flavored beer....

Well we eat plastic flavoured fish and wash it down with some distilled urine water, so why not drink fermented yeast out of a aluminium can??

When there's no more ice water, that is when we are officially screwed.

Tje end of humanity is a bad thing? We are an invasive species and a cancer to this plant.

ohhh I agree we are a parasite on the Earth.

We'v had a zillion tries, hundreds of governments, plague and pestilence, floods and toxic oceans, and havn't been worth _ _ _ _ as stewards. Perhaps it's time to do it right or perish.

I'm sure we could add lots to your list of ways we are screwing ourselves.
