Russian President Vladimir Putin telephoned U.S. President Donald Trump Sunday to thank him for a CIA tip that helped thwart a series of bombings in St. Petersburg, the Kremlin said.

During the call, the two leaders' second in three days, Putin expressed gratitude for the CIA information. The Kremlin said it allowed Russia's top domestic security agency to track down a group of suspects that planned to bomb Kazan Cathedral and other crowded sites this weekend.

"The information received from the CIA proved sufficient to find and detain the criminal suspects," the Kremlin said.

Nice to see that we can work on some common goals, even with the whole Russia narrative that is going on.

This whole Us and Them thing is pure you know what. We cooperated with them for many years now in the parameters of our space programs. We cooperated with them to make a deal involving our uranium.

We have cooperated with them in Syria and in effect have together defeated or substantialy reduced ISIS capabilities in that region. The boogie man concept stokes enough fear in some only to continue to fund the defense machine industry

that's a completely different situation. i'm surprised you'd compare breaching the secrecy of information gathering from a close US ally with warning russia of direct info concerning a terrorist attack on their soil.

You don't even know what that information was, it was by unnamed sources, and they could just as easily written almost exactly the same story about this and pasted on the headline I wrote, and here you are, telegraphing your outrage.
