I like what happens when the debt and deficit does not matter anymore. Money was made to spend, even if it is given to taxpayers who already have much. Maybe good jobs and benefits will trickle down to my family as promised by trump republicans and evangelicals.

You tell us. You have commented on nearly all the threads involving this tax reform, and I assume have read up on at least some of the stuff in this finalized draft. Does it help you or not? Tell us. Because for many of us reading it, it helps us.

As far as I can tell I will go from the 15% to the 12. So I guess I will make a few bucks. I’m not sure it’s worth trillions of new debt. But that won’t be my problem for long cause of my age. As I said, if their predictions are true that the rich will trickle it down to jobs, maybe it will be a good thing for country.

I am going to save between 4-6k with the new tax plan. It really is a great cut for working folks, but of course most people can't see that because of the lying media and their inability to admit anything Trump is involved in could be positive.

When business is stimulated through cuts you can take a smaller bite of a bigger pie and end up with the same amount or more. It is basic economic theory.

Yup.
Until they have medical problems which costs them 10s of thousands.

Anything in the bill for medical savings plans?

Wait, I forgot. Since medical providers will pay less in taxes they will reduce their charges. Bigly.

People get the choice to buy insurance or not, without being fined by the govt.
I know that level of freedom is just terrible to socialist control freaks, but I'd have thought in America it would be applauded.

Well said, salute, and have one on me

All that was needed was a stand down order to the IRS, just like when Trump told the IRS to stop taking tax exemptions from churches when they get involved in politics.

He gave the IRS that EO he day he was inaugurated. This removes it from the ACA by law.

Make yourself an eggnog and rum and relax. This HAS to go through. Too many careers are on the line for it to fail.

Not impossible, but unlikely. I will bet you a ten dollar gift certificate to Burger King....

Gut rot, thanks anyway. You just remember this posting chain, I have it bookmarked. We'll see who remembers it come February. My money is on we both forget.

Yes, I agree. It’s a gamble cause it all depends on the kindness of rich people. As I said, I hope trump republicans and evangelicals are correct in their assumption.

Brandy, a carton of egg nog, and a carton of milk (because I have to milk down the egg nog).

(Do the ingredients actually include eggs? And what is nog?)

Made homemade eggnog once (once!) and yes, it does contain eggs. Raw eggs as a matter of fact. Just the whites though.
A total pain in the ... to make but it was very very good. Tastes nothing like the carton-variety though.

We are screwed with or without this tax bill. We have 9 trillion in debt cooked into the next ten years. (I'm sounding like a broken record). We may as well get some of our money back because those yahoos in DC are going to waste it any ways. And yes by yahoos I mean both parties. Last I checked our two party system and having no term limits isn't working.

You were promised more. Trump republicans said we could expect like 3 or 4 grand to trickle down. That’s why I like these times when debt and deficits dont matter.

You get to choose what level of cover you want with a car, and whether you even drive at all, right? No mandate to say you have to pay for everything or have to be car owner.
Also, you are far more likely to hurt others in a car crash.
Makes sense that to drive a car you must have insurance - it's a big step from there to say you have to have insurance in order to live, which is what forced health insurance is.

Last time I checked you have the choice to drive a car - but choosing to live is a little more of an extreme choice wouldn't you say?

No car means no job in US except for large cities. Dress it any way you want, it’s mandated insurance.

I know several people in major cities in the US that do not drive.
It always a choice - sometimes a hard one, but a choice nonetheless.
Breathing is not so much of a choice.

Nope - though we don't get fined by the govt. either if we can't afford to eat. Quite the contrary, money is GIVEN to make sure we can.

Maybe, but at least, there's an attempt now. The logic being reduce taxes across the board. Business, wealthy, the average person with the hope of massive economic expansion. No other way to handle that debt. NONE. Too long we've been stuck in 'if we do this it will cause something bad. Do the opposite it does something else bad'...Perpetual gridlock, hand wringing, paralysis.

Sure there's 'risk', but there's a chance it will work, even to some degree.

Do nothing? We're screwed.
