I'd suggest that any scenario that involves uninvited imposition (which is what abduction is...and which is what YOU seem to have gone through), is generally malevolent. But I understand that you are trying to achieve a balanced view.

My views on it in the past very much fell in line with your idea that it is solely a malevolent act and an imposition upon one's personal freedoms and autonomy.

As mentioned, im still bitter about it, but with time ive grown to consider potentially positive, utilitarian aspects of it all.

Id be remiss if i didnt say that all situations are the same, they are not, nor are all E.T. the same.

You know that movie's fiction, right? They tag it as "based on a true story", but the whole thing is fabricated from the ground up, and in an extremely annoying way.

That said, there is some interesting stuff out there regarding owls and the supernatural. Look up Mike Clelland, he's written a book on the subject and has a few interviews on some of my favourite podcasts.

I was going to reply to a post above yours that addressed this point, decided not to, but then I saw your reply so I figured id respond.

No, i dont believe the movie. Its fiction, yes. The disappearances of the folks in Nome are real, but the causes are unknown from what i understand.

I was simply bringing up the owl symbolism in media, such as this movie, and as pointed by others, in secret societies and the occult.



One interesting thing id like to add...my ex gf and I moved into a house in 2012 that had an owl on the front door.

Less than a month living there, something appeared in our back yard. It scared our cats so bad that one was vomiting uncontrollably.

This thing was speaking in some language and did not sound human. It had an incredidly airy, gutteral voice.

Needless to say we left the next day. A week later we returned to move our stuff out of the house (told the landlord we had to move out) and came to find that the night after the appearance of this thing, our neighbors house burned to the ground...

This is a new find....great work.

This symbolism was undoubtedly an evolution of the Byzantine double headed eagle.
The prior art may have suggested that there was slicing and dicing to be done.
Owls hunt like dolphins processing audio signal reflections.
The imperial eagle works dedicated at Helsinki 18th December 1835(same period).



There is the suggestion that this double headed eagle was divided by the Finnish lion not the owl.
Same period Edgar Allan Poe was publishing so maybe that is a mast ring?

Owls are just owls.

However, considering that they are perceived to be wise and stoic, people have often used them as a symbol for whatever organization/cause they want -- sometimes that organization/cause is considered "good" by the masses and sometimes not

I mean, it's not difficult to understand why a wide range of groups would use an owl as their symbol.

30% are about the cuteness of owls and private owl sightings
30% are occultists defense of owls or alien experiences
30% are skeptics or mockers
5% are off-topic or unrelated

Not that I mind, just observing an interesting fact.
