I remember for years how I was somewhat intrigued by the Mayans calendar and how Dec 21st 2012 was of great significance,but what I find is stranger yet,that on Dec 21st 2017 all the planets align last time this happened was over 25,000 years ago,why is this not being spoke of,heck it's only a week off,maybe I'm old and crazy but I think something could possibly happen,I hope not I have 4 kids and a grandkids,after the hoopla,the mayans used 360 days,we use 365,think about it

Winter solstice 2017 in Northern Hemisphere will be at 9:28 a.m. (Mountain time, I think) on December 21.

Can you be more specific about this alignment you are talking about?

I looked at the positions of the planets on Dec. 21, 2017 and I couldn't see any obvious alignment.

WELL, even "if" something were to affect "you" and your loved ones personally, with the current state of global cataclysms happening from raging wildfires, to volcanoes, hurricane recovery, earthquake disasters, starvation from drought, unexpected snowfalls in regions unprepared, mudslides, tornadoes, power outages, and other less known worldwide effects such as vaccine contaminations, deadly and disfiguring viruses and super bugs, the decline in fishing industries and depletion of land and aquatic food chains, and as you well know the list goes on and is so extensive that the global statistics are staggering and overwhelming.

What I am getting to here Oldtimer, is that rather than worry about the future and the things that we cannot change nor are existing *in this moment* here and now for you, for all of us who have managed to dodge the thousands of dangers and bullets literally that have happened in the recent and ongoing past, my only suggestion for you and all of us who chose to allow fear of the future, fear of the unknown to reside in "this moment here and now" to first be fully acknowledged, then let go with whatever method works best for you personally whether that be meditation, prayer, dance, music, nature, or anything that reminds you, us to be fully in this moment here and now, where there is nothing harmful happening.

My Christmas wish for you Oldtimer is to cherish your loved ones, to truly feel gratitude for the protections they and you continue to be gifted, blessed with this year and ongoing into the New Year.

None of us will leave this earth alive, none of us will escape death, the real challenge is to live each moment here and now to its fullest, to be open in each moment to the immense blessings being showered upon us from every direction, from every dimension.

Love deeply, laugh often and live fully.

Now listen very closely. The Mayans were kicking their heels around well before our calendar so Dec. 21st would mean nothing to them. Now the kicker for you, since the Mayans kicked their clogs along comes the "gregorian" calendar which we use and since it was started it's been altered twice so that throw ANY calendar prediction out of any window you choose to throw it out of.

Well, December 21 coincides with the winter solstice, so while the Mayans did not have a date named "December 21, 2017", they could in fact have knowledge of a specific Solstice that will occur in the year that our modern western culture calls "2017".

Having said that, I'm still wondering what planetary alignment the OP was talking about. I know of no obvious alignments, so maybe the OP was talking about some obscure alignment?....maybe?

If not, then that sort of makes the OP meaningless. The reason why "no one is speaking of" this 25,000 year alignment on December 21 is that (as far as I know) there isn't one to speak of.

It's claimed that on December 21, 2012 a very rare event will occur; the Sun will "align" with the center of the Milky Way galaxy causing...something to happen. The trouble is, it is not a rare event. It happens every year.

Maybe. but when he wrote "Planetary Alignment", I was assuming he meant an alignment (conjunction, opposition, or a combination of the two) of several planets in the solar system, most likely in an alignment relative to Earth.
