A spokesman for Nunes said that he had already begun speaking to reporters to challenge the story and that, “at the request of a White House communications aide, Chairman Nunes then spoke to an additional reporter and delivered the same message.”
"When I temporarily stepped aside from leading the investigation, that's exactly what it means: It doesn't mean I wasn't going to be involved, it doesn't mean I wasn't going to be fully read in," Nunes said in an interview.
Nunes blasted news outlets for reporting that he had recused himself from the probe, when he said he had only stepped aside. But Monday marked the first time he explained the difference between the two terms, and what it means for the House Russia investigation.
"I can do whatever I want, I'm the chairman of the committee," Nunes said. "I voluntarily, temporarily stepped aside from leading the investigation."

Maybe this is the way you need to operate to fight the deep state.

Even befor this thread I thought Nunes probably shouldn't be involved, this further ads to that.
Does nunes have sole authority over his committee? In other words, can he block access to info, or otherwise have control over the committee that could lead to other committee members not being able to view relevant info?
I admit to not knowing all the details of how these committees work.

HRC had parts of the FBI working for her to get scot free. I have no problem if Nunes is doing the same now to bring her finally down. Just use Nunes and after that he can retire or whatever. You can't stop the deep state by playing fair. They have to be brought down by any means necessary.

No.
Right is right.
What you are suggesting is to continue the partisanship.
No. That isn't how we should proceed, and you should have a lot of problems with the way Nunes has behaved.

Right is right. You don't sacrifice people. If Trump has done wrong, he needs to be held to account.
If you sell out your ethics to ostensibly "drain the swamp" you become the swamp. Staring into the abyss....

Just for the sake of brevity, I will only point out that we'd be reading an equally outraged "OMFG, Nunes talked Russiagate with a witness prior to testimony!!!" manifesto had Nunes mentioned the document request to Prince during a meeting involving Afghanistan. The take away? This is a personal beef and these people can do no right in the eyes of those determined to somehow justify their blind hatred. It's a trash picking exercise in every sense of the word at this point. Find a postage card for a Playboy magazine subscription advertisement in the bottom of some guy's trash can, underneath a banana peel and an empty Meisterbrau can and obviously the guy is a sexist pig who reads Playboy... when the guy proves that's ridiculous and the card came in the mail only to be thrown away by him, then the narrative turns to "OMFG, you didn't recycle that can, you, you, you MONSTER!!!" and now we're hammering him for killing the planet.
Where are the elephants and unicycling bears at this circus?
Prince currently heads the private equity firm Frontier Resource Group and is chairman of Hong Kong-listed Frontier Services Group Ltd. He lives in both Middleburg, Virginia[1] and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
