"Blessed are the peacemakers", Trump has been anything but a peacemaker ever since he's been in office, all he's done is stir the pot constantly. This will not end well and if war breaks out over it we can blame Trump for poking the bear.

Christians will love it though, they will see it as prophecy being fulfilled even though it is so obviously self-fulfilling.

And there we go.

If someone kills another over this, it's trumps fault.

How would this be any different than saying if a refugee that obama let in kills people, it's Obama's fault?

Yeah I mean aside from the fact they let Palestinians live inside their country

Now I’m confused.
Is that a “two state solution”?

No, nor did I claim it to be. It shows they're willing to live alongside them though. Israel has agreed to give up certain lands before to form a second state. The Palestinians declined. This is a fact of history. Read up.

What do you think Trump thought the reaction to this would/will be?

Well done President Trump and the American People who voted him into do this. He told you he would do it and he has done it. It is a democratic decision between two allies made by two democratically elected leaders.

As if the average American could tell you what Israel's capital is, let alone give a rat's patoot where it is. However...it is of importance to the Christian Right as a Middle Eastern apocalypse is critical to the Rapture, return of Christ, yadda, yadda, yadda. Which accounts for why they continue to support Trump in all of his pussy grabbyness.

Interesting to note, though, with his tax bill and this little gesture taken care of...he ain't of a lot more use. President Pence, anyone?

All hail Gideon!

If you really believe that, all I can say is that you live a rich and full fantasy life. You do realize that the Palestinians view Jerusalem as THEIR rightful capital?

This move accomplishes nothing.........except to rub salt in the wounds. It would be one thing for the Israeli's to declare Jerusalem as their capital, but for the US to do that? Is Trumps next move to declare that the US now recognizes St. Petersburg to be the capital of Russia?

Hmmmm, and may therein lies the answer! He's a real estate developer! What are the chances Trump owns a building in Jerusalem he's looking to lease to the US Government as the site of the new Embassy?

Listen to his speech before you start making assumptions about the WHYs of it.

The peace process was on life-prolonging measures for years maybe it was time to let go. To make things happen someone had to move.
Do you want to acknowledge Palestine in its current state? Not if you're serious.

He can say whatever he likes, that's what politicians do best, say one thing to your face then do another behind your back.

What do you think Trunk thought

Well I don't know, but it's irrelevant.

When trump helped terrorist in syria, and sold the Saudis arms, I spoke up that it thought it was horrible.

But how is moving the U.S. embassy to another Israeli city to be blamed for violence?

Its ridiculous.

If this action is enough to cause violence from people, it proves those using it as an excuse for violence have no interest in peace.

Lets look at this another way.

Rmeember when the people wanted to put a mosque near ground zero.

To me it seemed no good reason to do it, but certainly it was within their rights.

Saying "if the Muslims put the mosque there, they will be responsible when people start to murder Muslims" would have been an asinine statement that served to cover up for the violent murderous bigots that may have done that.

But that is exact what I am seeing here.

The Palestinians have an opportunity now to work toward a real peace and a two-state solution. President Trump simply made our recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital official. For the past 20+ years, it was in the closet. Get it out into the light and lets begin the REAL work.

The opposers get inflamed every time someone farts. This official recognition, imo, just says go ahead and get it out of your system, so the real healing can begin.

Well said. I can't wait for the media coverage of any future attacks acting like the region has been devoid of conflict until today.

Then again, I’m confused as to why you brought up Palestinian reluctance of a two state solution, if your point wasn’t to suggest that Israel are for it.

I’m also aware of the history of that “offer”. It’s not really relevant to this particular story, in my opinion.

Because he is POTUS now and he is long time friends with Benji.

It will engender some camaraderie with most Jewish folks, and babies born in Jerusalem will now have the country on their passport they belong to filled in for once as Israel instead of blank.
Jews waling through the tunnels by the Western Wall in the east Jerusalem needs soldiers to escort them because you'll get assaulted by muslims. If you're muslim and walk the opposite way through to east Jerusalem, you will not be assaulted.

I didn't say there weren't any Democrats in favor of this. I'm well aware there are folks on both sides of the aisle who approve. I'm merely pointing out that Comrade Cheeto could be simply pandering to his base. It's hard to deny that a great deal of his base tends to be of the uber right-wing variety. Just saying.

In your haste to insult someone you don't know the first thing about you seem to have read too much into my comments.

This is another loss for the Palestinians.

And if those Muslims built a mosque near ground zero knowing full well what the reaction would be would you see them as victims for being attacked for it? The intent most certainly IS relevant.

I wonder what Trump NAZI fans feel about this ?

Trump's real threat to world peace wasn't that he was a Nazi

Its a little more nuanced, but much worst.

If you want to go down that road, you can just as well recognise the Islamic State as nation in my opinion.
They're the same "breed" (in lack of a better term)
