Trump's lawyer says he wrote president's controversial Michael Flynn tweet

President Trump’s personal lawyer says he wrote the commander in chief’s controversial Saturday tweet that prompted questions about whether Trump admitted to obstruction of justice.

So, we were lead to believe that the words coming out of President Trumps twitter account were his own. That the thoughts, ideas and announcements of national policy come directly from POTUS himself. That the some times rambling and incoherent babbling s are straight out of his own mind.

Now we are being told by his personal lawyer that at least in this case the ''sloppy tweet' was not done by Trump, but rather concocted by his lawyer.

So, now, are we to think that none of his tweets can be trusted? That possibly Bannon was correct when Brietbart said that Trump was being held hostage in the White House and not allowed to truly offer his perspective on the world at large.

Or could it be that his lawyer is trying to cover up for the mess this last tweet has brought into the public arena?

And this is the problem with platforms like Twitter being used to exchange information, especially with the president. We don't know who's really behind the keyboard when these things are posted, it could be anyone but the handle has Trump attached to it so people take it as gospel.

So, Trumps tweets are his voice! Him getting his own thoughts to the American public while sidestepping the crooked liberal media!...

Until something massively stupid is said, then it's his lawyer.

Umm. Yeah.

Yeah, it looks like a cover.

O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive!
Many said twitter would catch him out , obvious cover story is obvious.

Nope. We can find this info all over the place now. I remember when Sean Spicer was asked question about Trumps twitterings as to should we just take it as late night ramblings or presidential directives. His reply was take them seriously.

I can't wait until this one splashes big time.

Sure it seems a cover to me too. This then leave the lawyer open to charges of identity theft with the only way out being Trumps saying he ok'd it. But that would leave Trump still libel for the tweet. I see more squirming ahead.

Yes...similar to the way people take media reports that only present a narrow view of the whole picture as gospel, despite not knowing who is behind the keyboard.

It may be that once the Republicans have produced a tax reform bill that both houses of congress can agree upon and which he will automatically sign so that he can at least call that one a victory, that the Republican controlled congress will dump him like the fool they have been using him for.

Another story (which is a bit more believable) is that he wrote the DRAFT of the tweet.

...and Trump, of course, tweeted "in his own words." He doesn't say that "Trump got it wrong" but as many have pointed out, the tweet as it stands is an indication of obstruction of justice... not something a lawyer would advise for a client.

(one source of the "I drafted it" story)

There's probably a bit of panic at the moment and the claim may be a rushed out solution to that but Dowd claims he sent the message to the White House Social Media Director so there will be a record of it if he's telling the truth.

Seems a sloppy mistake for a lawyer to make though.

Sloppy indeed. At best it does not speak well of this lawyers legal skills. But that is par for the course in Trumps choices for advisors. Yes men all.

It's possibly an injection of plausible deniability to insulate him against any future allegations. The same has happened with Flynn if anyone's noticed.

Anything he's tweeted (or will tweet) can be attributed to aides and lawyers. Anything Flynn testifies against Trump will have a fat question mark over it.

If it was any other politician, in any other country, we'd take it for granted that mischief is at work. However, it's Trump and all of this is indeed the God's Honest Truth. Despite his impeccable honesty, it's not a bad loophole to have for the future...

This is a good example of Trump derangement syndrome. You should check out the thread on it.

I've heard about 100 times this or that will be his downfall, yet here he is. And I've heard about a million times he's an idiot, yet it's those calling him an idiot who like clockwork, keep being wrong.
