Engineers have released a video showing Boston Dynamics’ Atlas robot effortlessly jumping over obstacles and doing a backflip while performing a gymnastics routine.

Never realized we have come this far along. I definitely see killer robots, used by the military, in the very near future. The question is...how safe is humanity?

You don't get to see the thousands of times it failed before nailing it.

Amazing tech. Coming to a battle field near you.

OR

I can't wait til that little F-cker comes crashing through my window with his perfectly engineered articulating hands to choke me for not complying with the cashless society.

Great news...

Skynet is almost operational and I for one welcome our new robot-cyborg overlords...

Wonder if it's built to withstand an emp charge?

I wonder how it well it would stand up to 30 pounds of tannerite.

It looks like it can't withstand a 7.62mm X 54mm round. Lots of plastic and exposed wiring.
But this is the experimental friendly fun loving robot. It will be armored up, also will have weapons.

If that is what we have now, in public view, then Terminator already exists in secret. It just has too. Crazy scary and cool.

I think that in order for the robot to really emulate human beings, it should only be able to accomplish the backflip a couple of times before it flubs the landing, falls on its shiny metal ass, and starts swearing a lot.

Why do they have to look human?

That's friggin nuts! The amazing part is how it uses it's weight/limbs to stabilize and correct itself to avoid falling... Just like us silly hoomans.

28 seconds-ish is best example of what I'm saying. Watch that right arm fly up all, "sh** sh** sh** about to lose the landing!... phew that was close."

Battle bots is awesome. I dug this season.

Unlike video games and drone strikes or war, nobody gets hurt.

They were so mean to the lil fella!

I'm picturing this being used as propaganda by future intelligent robots as to how evil humans are lol.

"Observe how humans teased and abused our ancestors with wooden implements! They have hardly evolved from their Neanderthal ways, but we, we have evolved far passed that. We are superior! We are perfection!! We are the future!"

Considering that secret military technologies are at least that much more advanced than the private sector.... imagine those possibilities.

Give that thing a gun and Kevlar armour and you have a terminator waiting to be programmed.
