I don't like the chemicals in the cans and have noticed the metallic taste of pumpkin. So tried fresh pumpkins but you need alot of them and its very
expensive.
So lately my pumpkin pies are a mixture of canned pumpkin from the health store, in decent tins, and they taste fine, with organic spices, AND
butternut squash. Its meaty and you don't have to put it through the sieve, but can just cook it in the oven and let it sugar up, crystalize, then
put in the blender and it has lots of flavor.
