Awful, though I am not fond of ferrets. My only question is, why is the fact that she is pregnant even relevant?

Hormon's - behavior and mood alteration's - temporary insanity some woman get it at least once a month.

Actually very cruel and she is one nasty and horrible person, I actually do not see how her pregnancy should affect it with the caveat the unborn child can not be held responsible and should not be forced to suffer because of what she has done, still if she is this cruel to an animal can she be trusted with a child?.

I wish people who abused animals had everything they did to the animals done to them.
Animal abusers are on the same level as pedophiles as far as I'm concerned.

Very true butterfinger
I admit I've never heard of Chekhov's gun before today, but it certainly makes sense!

Perhaps there is a reason MSM included it, although it may just have been clickbait. I personally don't see the connection, other than (like others have said) showing she is unfit to take care of a defenseless child (since she exploits defenseless things).

absolutely disgusting...an innocent animal is tortured because this person is evil and deranged...

Or just VERY pregnant... I can speak from first hand experience. Sometimes it isn't all rosey...believe me....

Sorry, I was raised in a house with 3 women...I've been around all of them during pregnancy...never once saw them take the life of an animal because they were angry. I've seen ugly...(my youngest sis has 8 kids.) Never once would we take revenge on an animal for something that a human did.

Don't blame it on pregnancy...blame it on something else because I'm not buying the "I'm preggers" defense.

Pretty disgusting. No animal should be burned alive....except lobsters.

Agreed
They are quite tasty

I believe (please correct me if I'm wrong) that lobsters don't have a complex nervous system capable of feeling pain? Or did I mistakenly read that somewhere?

I'm not personally against killing for food, but torture/abuse/killing for fun is despicable IMHO.

Agree 100%

Anyone who exploits a defenseless living being is pond scum IMO. Luckily for her, our justice system prohibits cruel and unusual punishment - just wish she would've shown that helpless ferret the same consideration!

Psychos like this have no business around children or the rest of society

At a minimum, it certainly demonstrates her inability to behave in a rational and socially acceptable way.

If a minor disagree over something as petty as clothing causes her to commit depraved acts, there is no way she can be trusted to deal responsibly with the stresses of parenthood (especially a new baby, when he/she is born).

No, they don't:

The Lobster Institute in Maine maintains that the lobster's primitive nervous system is most similar to the nervous system of an insect. Lobsters react to sudden stimulus, like twitching their tails when placed in boiling water, but they don't have complex brains that allow them to process pain like humans and other animals do.

"Do you have the same concern when you kill a fly or a mosquito?" asked Robert Bayer, executive director of the Lobster Institute. "Cooking a lobster is like cooking a big bug."

You have to watch out for the wily lobster though. They can creep up on you.

I couldn't agree more blackadder, it is horrifying to even try to imagine how that poor ferret was feeling in the last few minutes of its life.

Furthermore, ovens take a few minutes to warm up which only adds to the sheer terror this animal was put through. Class B Felonies are nothing to laugh about, but serious and egregious acts of torture like this should be punished much more severely.

My only regret is that there aren't a litany of other charges they can slap her with. This is infuriating.

Clearly, this was a callus act of one who psychotic and void of feeling.

Then you speak for your own deranged self. Two pregnancies under my belt, and not once did I ever get irritated OR mad enough to ever consider hurting an animal, or even a human, regardless of how short-tempered I got. YOU DEAL WITH IT. Using pregnancy as an excuse for abuse is weaksauce, sick, and tells you pretty much everything you need to know about how far someone will go to deflect responsibility. "It's not because I'm a POS, judge, honest, I'm just pregnant!"

Because do you think someone who can just casually burn a defenseless creature to death out of spite should be in charge of a small child?

Generally, some of the worst abusers start out by torturing animals ... you know, sort of like burning ferrets alive.

Sick and sad story. I know a local Seattle vet who calls ferrets "God's Clowns". From my own experience, they are sweet, albeit stinky, creatures.

As far as lobsters not feeling pain- perhaps we don't understand them enough to know how or what they experience. I believe that all living beings have at least some level of consciousness, so being boiled alive might be a painful experience for a lobster just because it is so terrifying and unusual. I hope they don't stay conscious very long. Enjoy your seafood, I'll stick to veggies.

I just wanted to say that as silly as it may sound to some, I truly feel sadness for this ferret. From everything I read about them, they are sweet and kind creatures that pose no threat to humans whatsoever. They remind me so much of house cats, and clearly make wonderful pets.

How in the #### could someone do this to one of these little fellas

This has shockingly weighed pretty heavily on my mind all day. I think I am just in disbelief at the pure evil we witnessed here. It takes a special kind of depravity to do something like this to another living being.

I was like that but I never injured, neglected any animals. Sure, I got pissed off with my cat but I never conflicted injury on my cat. Hormones isn't excuse to harm animals. She still have those hormones when she isn't pregnant. They don't magically disappear right after birth. We still have mood swings for a bit, and potentially post-partum depression up to a year.

I think I quoted the wrong person. :|
