2 people shoot an elementary school?

2? 1 you can pin down to severe mental disorder... but 2? Even two people with severe mental disorders ... It seems incredibly unlikely to me to have been simply mental disorder... This seems political... assuming there were actually two shooters...

" This seems political"

Simple, stop putting these nut cases on tv, stop the 24/MSM coverage.

Todays society feels the need to turn these people into the new 24 hour star.

Quit the coverage, no 5 mins of fame and people will top copy catting.

These lunatics were failures at life and shouldn't be given any attention in their acts.

Yes, shootings only happen because of TV. Because we all know, absolutely no one was ever shot before the invention of the TV.

You guys and your excuses.

Excuse?
It's more of a fact.

Tell me how many of these shooting go ignored?
How many mental cases, commit these acts, then have news people go through their lives?

They are the new reality stars.

MAybe, if these nut cases weren't given a 24 hour news cycles, they wouldn't have an added reason to do these things.

They were nothing in life, until they hit tv.

TV isn't what makes these idiots commit these acts, but it gives them an incentive.

For anyone wondering about the numbers of casualties and fatalities, I was able to find the following passage from the article

"I know that we have (airlifted) a number of students," Johnston said. "I know that the school's been cleared. I know that we have children that were attending school in a safe location at this time."

So it looks like students are among those injured. The fatalities have yet to be confirmed as students, although that doesn't preclude such a possibility. The early reports are often conflicting, so that may or may not be the case here.

This has actually been brought up by psychiatrists and psychoanalysts for over a decade.

But I'm sure you know better.

So... what did they blame shootings on before?

(I think you missed my point)

No I didn't miss your point.

There is a psychological component to watching the attention and fame these killers get, that other nutjobs are triggered by. This has actually been studied pretty closely. Though no one in the media cares because if it bleeds it leads.

Fox News is saying the following:

2 kids among four killed by gunman near California school; shooter downed by police

They also state

It was unclear if any of the shooting scenes happened on school ground.

Are we seeing a situation where stray rounds could have struck the school/children? Or is this a school shooting? Hopefully the facts will be clarified as we learn more

That's just awful.

As a parent I can't imagine what the parents of these kids must be going through.

As much of a platitude as this may be, my heart goes out to them.

You avoided my question.

Based on your avatar, I am not surprised.

Certain people like guns, for protection, or rights. Others like taking pictures of themselves with guns.

I doubt any reason could get through.

Agreed

I wish I had something more than platitudes to offer as well

The only meaningful thing I can think of is to pray. It might not actually accomplish anything, but it is the only meaningful thing I can do right here and now

This second shooter should be famous by now.
Apparently at Aurora, San Diego, Paris and Las Vegas.
These were visual sightings by witnesses.
As in "I saw TWO gunman "the one that gets caught
(or killed) and then another, someone middle aged
wearing green or black fatigues always fleeing into
the brush.

I don't see vnx avoiding reason. A person shouldn't be labeled as unreasonable because of their beliefs (or especially an avatar on social media). Many people (myself included) believe mass media absolutely has an impact on people. I don't think anyone is saying it is the cause, but it can't be rejected as a contributing factor either.

Your question is irrelevant to this phenomenon.

Media has always been around to glorify violence and the people who commit violent acts.

The rest is just you thinking we're in the mudpit.

Switch gears dude, I'm not here to fight.

It's not to me, but what the hell.

Your asking the wrong question.

What did they blame "murders" on before?

Cause that's what it is.

I also saw in a later post you judged this man by a picture?

Because he had a gun?

What's your point?

Do you judge people who have pictures of them with a car or truck?

Or does that not fit your narrative? The fact is people will always find a way to murder people.

I am not here to fight either, just pointing out flaws in logic.

Anyway, see you in the next shooting thread. Later today, or maybe tomorrow, if we are lucky.

Enjoy your excuses and rationalizations.

What do you wanna do about it?

California has all the laws you could possibly want and then some. To include confiscations, gun restraining orders, and outright bans of anything deemed scary. They have mag limits and only certain guns that are on the CA registry can be purchased.

You have to register your guns. If you're a felon like this guy was, you are barred from owning them. CA residents can't circumvent this via purchasing in NV because NV makes it illegal to sell guns to California residents. Further more the school is a gun free zone.

So what more could you possibly want? An outright ban on all guns? How would that stop the felon who apparently doesn't care about all of California's gun laws?

Your commentary on me personally says otherwise.

just pointing out flaws in logic.

Well once again this has been studied by people with the education to do so. I can't help but defer to their expertise on psychoanalysis of killers as it relates to media coverage.

Anyway, see you in the next shooting thread. Later today, or maybe tomorrow, if we are lucky.

Shootings happen all the time. It's called gang activity. No one cares about them though. It's just brown people killing each other.

Enjoy your excuses and rationalizations.

It seems to me like you're more interested in framing this discussion around a hunk of metal and plastic than you are about the conditions that could lead to this kind of tragedy occurring.

You didn't trigger me, no worries.

And I will pray for them and their loved ones as well. I just get really angry about the latest Leftist rants after the Texas church shooting about how its pointless to pray for people, and then they point out the people killed in the church were praying at the time of the shooting and it didn't help them then.

The sheer ignorance about prayer life is unfathomable. But its more than ignorance, its outright self-righteous bigotry!

Yes.

How would that stop the felon who apparently doesn't care about all of California's gun laws?

Because if guns didn't exist, shootings wouldn't happen.
