I'm unclear as to why such behavior is being minimized to the point you do here. Like it's no big deal.
Maybe in your experience it isn't. To many of us, it is. It's gone on for too long. It IS a big deal, and it needs to end.
Minimizing it and dismissing and mocking it, isn't helpful to anyone.

Some random thoughts

1) Moore run for office multiple times, at least is second run for the Alabama court was controversial to say the least. And nothing ever came up? Little too much of a perfect storm for the US Democrats I’d say

2) I don’t think a distinguished (well depending on your viewpoint) political career should end because something you did 40 years ago. Even if all the accusations are true, it happened well in the past. People change. Moore should own up to it, ask for forgiveness and move on.

3) Condemning Moores alleged conduct in the 70/80s based on todays moral standards is dishonest to say the least. Societies views especially on this topic have changed radically over the years. If it wasn’t even illegal it shouldn’t end his career. The story with the 14 year old is obviously another matter if true.

4) Moore attempts at denying the accusations are really ridiculous to say the least. He’s just making it worse.

5) No question in my mind, the accusations are true, at least to some extent. Too much adds up for all of it to be nothing. The guy likes young girls, too young by today’s standards. Disgusting behavior, immoral, hugely disappointing and unbecoming an elected official.

6) Would I vote for him? If I was a US Republican in Alabama - gee why not . Most US Senators are guilty of something. If i was a US Republican I’d be much more concerned with defending the Senate majority than what Moore did decades ago. Whats another dirty Senator. He'll fit right in.

Should be an interesting election.

What the heck? You think all male nurses are gay?

And apparently you can't trust a gay male nurse. Must be the agenda:

The credo of the Trump era is apparently "Safe Space For Bigots". What's great is that they don't think anybody is taking notes.

Gotta love the hypocrisy of ATS. Weinstein gets accused and people are on here five minutes later making multiple threads about how the Left isn't doing enough to condemn him.

With Moore on the other hand it's back to the old Right Wing tactic of blame the victim. Even McConnell said he believes the girls and that Moore should step aside.

Yes, in one of the other idiosyncrasies of the Orange Era...Yertle the Turtle is suddenly a good guy.

IOIYAR

Though to be fair, a lot of people on the right are starting to denounce him. Not "most", but "a lot" (from what I've seen).

What's an "official ban" from a mall?

A restraining order. a police report, a freaking written allegation, something concrete! How do you accept a claim when the police officer that started the whole mess said it was not official and there's zero evidence?

Oh, that's right... you don't like his politics, so any story against him must be true and the rights of Alabama voters should be suspended.

I'm no leftist.

Not a big fan of republicans either.

But I read/listened to the Hannity interview with the judge last night.

I didn't like his answers.

Sure, there's a partisan element with this, but something just doesn't sit right with me on this.

Ask yourself this question.....

"How would you like an old creeper like this hitting on your daughter at the mall?"

I think Only a legally binding order, can ban a specific person from a shopping mall.

I think my main concern is whether there is even a single piece of legal paper towards old Moore anywhere? Whether true or not, most of the allegations are weak at best, and I don't like the whole he is guilty attitude without this going though the courts, or have done anything with the courts ever.

Why would a restraining order be required to remove someone from private property? Why would there be a police report?

I've checked social media of 4 folks named in yesterday's AL.com report that other media picked up and ran away with regarding mall story.

2 definitely had left leaning posts and other 2 limited access or deleted prior posts.

Tells me it was "pile on" agenda driven reporting and story telling.

If any truth to matter mall would've filed trespass order.

Why? That's why malls have security. "Go away and don't come back." Private property, you know?

Because we don't live under martial law. If there's a complaint, there's a police report. If there's no complaint, there's no action taken. If someone is a regular problem and has to be removed, it is unusual for the owner of the property to not at least attempt to get a restraining order.

I have to agree... this has all the scent of a liberal personal destruction campaign. But, as I stated in another thread, my personal experience with those I know in Alabama is that Roy Moore will actually get more votes than he would have before.

What would it take for you to believe that Moore was, at one time in his life, a pedophile who preyed on teenage girls?

A photograph? A video? Roy Moore himself saying it's true?

Now? It would take the word of a police officer who had supporting documentation... police reports, arrest records, court filings, something like that.

A year ago? I would have been much more open to the accusations and probably been much less suspicious of the motives behind them. It might have caused me to hold my nose and vote for Strange.

Face it: the politics of personal destruction has been exposed for what it is. You don't wait 40 years on a secret and then expose it a month before an election. That's ridiculously transparent. Sure, provide me with evidence and I'll say the timing was coincidental, but try to claim victim-hood without evidence under such suspicious circumstances and I'll call BS every single time. I don't care what party is what, who it is, that's just too much of a coincidence to be a coincidence.

Martial law? It's private property, with private security.

I told a "friend" of a friend to leave my house because he was acting like a real ass. I guess I should have called the cops? Should I have gone through the rigamarole of getting a TRO too? Is that how you would have handled it?
