I hope that report is true and that CNN ends up squarely in the crosshairs of the investigations.

Thanks for posting that letter from Senate Judicary.
I would not be surprised at all to see Rinat Akhmetshin indicted.

that is if somebody is doing their job.

If this is true, then it effectively proves that the Trump Tower meeting was a setup, specifically for the purpose of creating the Russia Narrative. Of course, these are the same people who paid Steele to create a dossier full of dubious claims. Which Obama's FBI used as the basis to begin an investigation, despite apparently knowing full well the dossier was a political hit-piece.

It proves no such thing. Goldstone contacted Don Jr at Emin Agalarov's behest. Reporting also indicates that Veselnitskaya met with Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika (who Goldstone refers to as the "crown prosecutor" probably because he himself is British) prior to her trip to the US. It's also known that Chaika's office handed off a document containing many of the same talking points (some paragraphs were identical) to Rep. Rohrabacher in April of 2016.

Where in that is Fusion GPS involved?

Think through what you're alleging. If the DNC/Clinton knew about the meeting with Veselnitskaya, why wouldn't they have dropped that bombshell prior to the election?

It helps to understand Glenn Simpson's body of work as an investigative journalist at the WSJ through 2009. For instance, I was researching Russian lobbying and came across this 2007 article from Simpson and Jacoby:

How Lobbyists Help Ex-Soviets Woo Washington

Prior to Fusion GPS, he and his partners made a career out of digging up dirt on corruption in politics and writing about it. For instance, Susan Schmidt, the co-founder of Fusion GPS has not one but two Pulitzers for investigative journalism (2002, 2006). One of those was for the exposure of Jack Jack Abramoff's corruption. She also broke the Lewinsky scandal in the media. In the 90's, Simpson co-authored a book on political corruption called Dirty Little Secrets : The Persistence of Corruption in American Politics. Like any successful investigative reporters covering politics, they have networks of sources and they're very good at digging up dirt.

In 2010 and later, Glenn Simpson can be seen writing essays for a think tank, International Assessment and Strategy Center, that include pieces like U.S. Identifies Russian Nexus of Organized Crime. So clearly not only had he spent decades investigating political corruption, he had spent recent years writing about Russian lobbying in DC and Russian organized crime. So it makes sense that the Russians would turn to Fusion GPS to dig up dirt on Bill Browder, etc.

It's in the playbook.

Chapter 2, page 7....paragraph 3, subsection D.

It's called projection. If you want to know what they are doing, pay attention to what they accuse you of.

How best to construct a plausible conspiracy? Look at what you're doing and simply set it up so you can flip the script. The people are already primed by the use of the Hegelian dialect to view Republicans as the natural villains anyhow right along with the Russians. It's a natural fit.

Yeah, I've been waiting to see if Akhmetshin would be indicted. He's an American citizen now and he didn't register as a foreign agent. The word was Rohrabacher's boy Behrends was taking Akhmetshin and Veselnitskaya around and making introductions on the Hill.

Politico - The Hill Staffer at the Center of the Russia Intrigue

Behrends has been the chief Capitol Hill contact for the lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya and the lobbyist Rinat Akhmetshin, a former Soviet intelligence officer, whose contacts with Trump Jr., along with Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort, are now at the center of questions about whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.

After arranging their impromptu meeting with Hill in Moscow, Behrends later escorted Akhmetshin around Capitol Hill—“almost by the hand” in the words of one congressional staffer—after the Moscow meeting last year, introducing him to lawmakers as part of an effort to undermine human rights legislation opposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, drawing on his significant experience and connections to give the Kremlin’s version of events a hearing.

It's not off the top of my head. I've been reading up on the related matters for months. It just seems impressive because a lot of people choose to spend their time passionately offering ill-informed opinions.

It is even more amazing how some people will defend the Clintoncult `till matching bracelet hooking do they part.

There has never been more evidence of corruption/criminal activity than against Clinton. This spans decades of their invasive presence in Government, having no real skills/commodities to sell other than sheer influence in government. Otherwise, that whole clan is worthless.

Look at the report by Director Comey that was released by FBI to congress re: Clinton's illegal email server. He specifically stated she stored classified information and cited "Gross negligence" which constitutes a crime.

Somehow, Lynch/Willy's tarmac meeting days before the announcement was made turned "gross negligence" in to "extremely careless"

I don't think she'll get so lucky this time. Last time, they had the Presidency and DOJ umbrella agencies well under their thumb (Obama even campaigned for her FFS!). This is Trump's government now, time to expose/shame/arrest the Clintonista crime family. Prosecute them under RICO.

crafting the Russia Narrative continuously.

They used this during the election, and you know this.
How crafty to fall back on saying they didn't.

See, I keep notes.

That Simpson story I linked above was in fact from recent notes:

2003 ??? ?? - Deripaska hired Bob Dole and Bruce Jackson (Alston & Bird) to lobby State Department to overturn visa ban. ($500k) WSJ, How Lobbyist Help Ex-Soviets Woo Washington, 2007, Glenn R. Simpson and Marry Jacoby

There, I've given away my secret.

EDIT:

If you squint real hard, you'll notice interesting things in there like this:

2008 ??? ?? - Rick Davis leaves Davis Manafort to work on John McCain campaign.

2012 ??? ?? - Tad Devine quits work with Davis Manafort in Ukraine after Yulia Tymoshenko imprisoned. NY Times, How the Russia Investigation Entangled Rick Gates, a Manafort Protégé, 2017

2016 ??? ?? - Tad Devine (Devine Mulvey Longabough) makes millions as chief strategist for Bernie Sanders campaign. The Observer, This Political Consultant Made Millions Off of Sanders’ Campaign, 2016-08-22, Michael Sainato

That's how I make posts like this one and why you should put more stock into what I say than the average muppet who spouts nonsense and insinuates that people are shills because they're not equally uninformed.

I disagree with you r take that this is insignificant.

Lets look at this through two possibilities.

1. Vesilnitskya (V) meets Don Jr and this has nothing to do with fusion.

This still is important because although fusion did not plant her, and perhaps didn't know about her meeting with Don jr. they were getting chummy with the same person both before and after Don Jr that the dems decried.

And we now know that fusion paid to get dirt o, trump from other Russians.

So this means at best for dems, if V was not a big deal, they paid a firm for oppo research on trump that was the very thing they were criticizing and Don Jr really did not do anything that differently than the dems

or at worst V is working as a sort of spy to plant Kremlin influence, and this cast doubt on the intentions of the Kremlin agents giving info on the doSauer who fusion also health with.

And again, if that dossier was used for things like fisa warrants, it is a bombshell.

Also in this scenario, fusion and the dems didn't come out and admit their connection with V in this way, which shows they are more c0ncerned with gamesmanship that rooting out Russian influence.

There is no point in trying to convince her true believers. The perp walk & subsequent conviction is all the evidence we'll need. Then, and only then, will it be undeniable. Although they will resort to accusing the entire system of being "rigged against her" and probably some form of bias against women.

Even though the Trump Administration is virtually run by women Trump has appointed/hired. This isn't an attack against women, just Hillary Clinton and all of her corrupt/entitled/conniving/lying associates.

They used what during the election? If the Clinton campaign knew about that meeting before the election. Why wouldn't they have revealed it when it would have mattered?

At the same time, as much as we might want to see that perp walk, we have to let this play out.

What we think may not be what happens in the end, and this goes for everyone on either side of the issue.

One question: When will the prosecutions begin?

The left has lost all credibility. Enough is enough. Time to hold the swamp creatures accountable.
