Al Qaeda are Hillary's marching boots on teh ground in Syria and beyond, and you cant be bothered to comment, until that is a piece pops up
that may or may not be some hoax hack or whatever.
Nobody is Hillary's anything. She hasn't held office in over 4 years. Is it really news to anyone that the US government armed extremists with
affiliations with/sympathies for AQ/ISIS? The US has been arming would be "freedom fighters" who are often worse than the regimes they're armed to
overthrow longer than either of us have been alive — possibly combined. It's not even our first shot at arming Islamic extremists.
Whether it's fighting communists, the war on drugs, the war on terror or "liberating" oppressed people from the assholes we supported 20 years ago
when they were the "freedom fighters" that those in charge believed best served our geopolitical interests at the time.
Syria? I'd say regime change was about disrupting Russian energy hegemony in Europe, particularly Eastern Europe. In related news, Ukraine.
Has Trump actually changed US foreign operations in some way that I'm unaware of? Has our overall inter-administration changed? He talked
non-interventionist talk when wasn't also talking about how we should lay claim to Iraqi oil. Have we withdrawn forces from anywhere? Has the CIA left
any countries? Are we playing hardball with Saudi Arabia? You post 9/11 videos but last I checked, Trump had no interest in making waves with the
center of Wahhabism either. It's all orb fondling, big smiles, fur robes and ceremonial daggers.
How about drone strikes? I seem to remember reading that drone strikes under Trump hadn't just gone up, hadn't just doubled — but had actually
quadrupled.
SEALs dying in Yemen, green berets dying in Niger, we've got as many fingers in as many pies as ever. You're right about one thing though, "nobody
even cares." If the domestic distractions ever settle, you might see people on the Left start to care a lot more and you'll point to the hypocrisy
about the Obama years and you won't be wrong.
That said, the attempts to link foreign and domestic affairs in this way:
This is my main theme of the year, how Hillary/Obama/CIA have been openly working with Al Qaeda in Syria and beyond
In the context of this thread? Horrendously specious. It's like saying that because the US government backed mujahideen in Afghanistan in the 80's,
that it somehow made conservative Americans susceptible to accepting Taliban-style extremism domestically.
What the OP/his source propose in general doesn't even make sense. The reality is that Christian fundies have more in common with Islamic fundies than
anyone on the Left ever could. And maybe that's the most deluded part of anarchist ideology. In the absence of a strong secular state, what do they
actually believe would rise to take its place?
Ok, I'm getting off my soapbox now
